Save your money. Its definitely not a bad third part addon, its probably one of the better ones, but you can find more entertaining campaigns and missions on the Internet for free.

I'm using it with the combined install and it seems to work fine. There are some spotty parts, like German trains running through allied airfields, but its always been like that even when it was just AEP.

It will depend on how large the price will cut into your budget!
(I mean, what will you have to miss out on if you get it?)

For me, it was well worth it, I paid EUR 25,= for it, and I truly enjoyed it.
(And sometimes still do...)

I dunno if it uses truly dynamic campaigns...
I do remember something like "Oh, no not another escort mission!" or "Oh no, not another GA mission!" or whatever... but, once in the air... still having a great time.

One other thing: I found some mission-moments truly too much for my rig: A P4 2.4 Ghz is not up to having lots of B17's in the air releasing their bombload all at the same time: Frame rate dropped to about 4-5 FPS at that moment... after them few seconds of low FPS , all okay.

Have fun!

It cost me $14.95 USD including the overseas shipping.

I download free missions and skins just like anybody, but I think that BOE is worthy of the purchase and that the free download patch with the RAF makes it even better.

My guess is that it cost Just Flight $6 just to ship it to me so BOE is really just a $9 add on.

Beautiful!! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

I say its worth it. It adds the western European theater for both single and multiplayer modes.

I got it from just flight for $29 USD (free shipping). Plus if you sign up you get an extra couple "bonus bucks" or something that will save you a few dollars more.

Best $30 I spent for an add-on, very cool RAF campaign in the spit over Normandy and The Ardennes. I think it has a free add-on on net wings for a B-25 campign on the same theater.

I say get it if you play mostly off line like me.

I live in Japan and can't easily get this stuff but I sawin one shop an add-on caleed COMBAT over Europe. Do you reckon it's the same thing?
Any info on this. I'm pretty keen to buy BOE if it is available here.

@ FlatSpinMan,

BoE and CoE are NOT the same thing.

Far from it.

BoE is a good, well-constructed, well-researched add-on. CoE is, apparently, just a series of skins and missions.

If you search the forum going back a while, you'll see several threads on this topic.

I play mostly offline, and I like BoE - big bomber formations are good fun, whether you're attacking them or escorting them. Bit too much ground pounding in the Allied Normandy campaigns (even in the Spitfire), but generally good fun.

Thanks for that Russkly. I appreciate the warning. I totally agree about big bomber formations - in the Jagdflieger campaigns there are a couple of missions where you attack unescorted bombers. It's like porn for pilots.

Happy trails.

He's closer to the price than I said. I paid the $14.95 USD for Operation Barbarossa. Just Flight shows BOE for $22.95 USD right now.

http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif Well worth the money.Adds great online dynamic campaigns that are real user friendly.A couple of clicks and your off and running.

I have to agree with most of the above, especially Altstiff. If you like playing offline, its a great deal. For me, it provided an important -bump- in maintaining my Il2 interest when it was beginning to flag after a year of ETO campaigning. I still play BoE campaigns quite regularly, probably as much at ETO campaigns (and certainly more than PF campaigns).

I haven't heard about this B-25 patch though. Altstiff - could you provide a link, if it isn't too much trouble? Thanks!

Well i am most likely going to buy it becasue i am not an online player of this game. so just to clarify, it wont mess up if i install it over FB+AEP+PF? also someone mentioned an RAF campaign you can download for it, where do i get that. and are there any patches to fix the bugs?

Also bought BoE the other day and had no trouble so far after I installed it over my PF+AEP+FB.
For the patches go to www.justflight.com (http://www.justflight.com) and register for the forum there. Then look for Just Flight Support Forums, scroll down to Other products and general queries. There you find BoE and can download 2 patches including "Royal Air Force" update.
Another one can be found here:www.il2center.com/BoE-PF.zip (this none I found at:
