What is the best soundtrack for any movie?
When I say best, I don't just mean the best sounding, but a soundtrack that really adds to the movie and increases the movies depth and atmosphere dramatically.
I was just listening to some such music from one of my favorite films in which I think the music is the best of any and just wanted to post this here and see what movie music others really enjoy.
I will reveal my favorite movie music in a while after we have a few responses here.

Mods, I have NO IDEA how this got here. I was posting in the OT and couldn't find it so I typed another one over there. Is there a way to keep these posts and combine them with my OT thread?

There are a lot of very well done soundtracks, but one that's not only very well done but also very original would be the soundtrack of "once upon a time in the west".

One that comes to mind is Samuel Barbers "Adagio for strings" in the Platoon movie. To me anyway.

The bag pipe bit from "We Were Soldiers" makes for a chilling atmospheric.

The Star Wars theme and the Imperial march are timeless.

There was an adult cartoon called Heavy Metal in the early 80's that had a soundtrack that absolutley rocked.

The movie Singles, while being drivel itself, had an amazing soundtrack if you go for '90's grunge (Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam etc.)

I am not talking about one or two good parts in the film, as We Were Soldiers was excellent with the bagpipe, but only in a small part of the film.
The Rock had a very good soundtrack that really put you into the movie. One of the better movie soundtracks out there.
My favorite of all time is.....

Legends of the Fall

Agree. Ennio Morricone made the music to all Dollar movies as well. Im a fan of "western" soundtracks. My favorites are How the west was won (Alfred Newman) and The magnificent seven (Elmar Bernstein). Many others out there to like.
