On four occasions now, I have placed 1st overall yet I still lose points. Here is proof: https://imgur.com/a/ICLatt9 Just because your matchmaking cannot find me better competition, does not mean I should lose points for beating lesser opponents. What is the deal here?

you cant lose ANY race to a lower ranked player, if you do you'll lose points.

I'll tell you what the deal is. The developers are failing miserably when it comes to updating the multiplayer and keeping the community informed. The MP is trash when 90% of the tracks are begginer/easy... And that's coming from gold rank.

I would have played 30+ hours on multiplayer alone by now if we could compete regularly on medium and hard tracks but noooooo lets cater to the noobies that aren't even gonna stick with the game in the long run.... I'll probably stop purchasing future trials games if the MP is always gonna be this boring.... Not to mention a lack of developer communication...

Same problem here. I've been floating between 1900-2100 rank points since the start of the season because there is typically only 1 or 2 other gold ranked players in the lobby. One bad game and you're looking at losing 200-300+ points easy, but it's nearly impossible to earn more than 50 points at a time. It's insanely annoying when I'm forced to play beginner/easy tracks against 2 guys wearing default clothes on squids, just knowing no matter what I do my rank is getting wrecked at the end.

I just got gold on all 3 tracks, 1st place overall, yet I still lost a ton of points. WHAT EXACTLY AM I SUPPOSED TO DO? Do I need to put up a Diamond time every race? Am I just not allowed to gain points anymore? Proof: https://imgur.com/a/Ep3yrK0

It's simple the first race you lost 75 points because you lost from someone much worse then you and the next 2 races you won 25 points per race so that will give you -25 in the end , overall doesn't count for anything

You can still lose points if you get solid times, zero fault, and win each race by 2+ seconds.

They mentioned during the livestream that there will be balances and tuning for Season 2. They are definitely making changes, but we'll have to wait until then to see them. - https://www.twitch.tv/videos/406490426?t=01h04m17s

Honestly, it seems like there are bigger and more important issues for Rising and RedLynx right now. I'm loving MP, but I'd rather have the major issues with the game prioritised.

Just play this season for fun. I was 2380 yesterday, but now don't care and will be using the Helium a lot til the end of season. Or intentionally faulting early and seeing if I can still catch the other riders.
