I've played just about everything in the AC series. Im a huge fan, loved how we got to pick on the Templars over and over again, and was overjoyed at the mention of Portugal in AC:B with the contracts.

But considering the series, i dont understand why Portugal, namely the city of Tomar, founded by Gualdim Paes, one of the Grand Masters of the Templar order, who happened to die in 1195, didnt got any attention in this series so far...
I mean Tomar is considered by a lot as the capital of the Templars. Its the place where dozens of them converged after the purge. It is one of the most likely sites where the infamous treasures of the templars would have been hid. Its also the place where the Templars turned from their public image and renamed the remnants of their order into the Order of Christ(an actual religious order, with the same characteristics to the templars, that still exists today), and thus escaped in large part the prosecutions by the enemies of the templar order.
Still i dont quite understand why this city hasnt been mentioned in the series yet.

Any ideas on the reasons why? Pure lack of knowledge of the place by the devs?
I would aknowledge that the city itself is not as big as any of the games, but sure, it would deserve a DLC at least... The city is still nowadays a pearl of the Gothic Period, riddled with anciente buildings, of the medieval period, and a lot of Templar churchs, some of which are unique in the world like the infamous Hexagonal church, built by the Templars. This city also has an imposing castle that is quite unique in its architecture.
And the plots for this place are just endless... A lot of intrigue surrounded that place over the centuries.
Sure i loved how Ezio went all crazy over the templars efforts in Italy, but now that the Templars have been defeated in Italy why wont he turn his attention on the historical headquarters of the order in this timeframe?

First of all: Please, not another game with Ezio as the protagonist.

Second: Maybe a title on a portable device, or a comic, or book.

Third: Perhaps it can be one of the Temples of 'The Ones Who Came Before', that Des has to visit when he eventually gets a game dedicated to himself.

Good thought, though. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

E Viva Portugal, seria engraçado no tempo do Marques de Pombal haveria muita coisa por onde pegar

don't really feel like retyping that in english but wtv, all i can say is that it would be a great plot to use the Marquis of Pombal as templar or something like that, maybe he used the apple to create the earthwake of 1755 and then rise to the power by kiling the queen and king and then rebuilding and be a hero to the
people, but hey thats just my vision of it

though i do agree that the City of the Templars as it is called in Portugal would have made much more sense despite the fact that the timeline of the games tend to move forward in time.

~If anything Marquês de Pombal was the Anti-Templar! lol
Remember how much he prossecuted the Jesuits and a lot of other religious orders?? Lol
I could see a game set in the years and months Before the quake, setting the tone for the climax occorring during and after the quake.
But back on the topic. Tomar has a lot more to do with the Series than for example Marquês de Pombal and Lisbon...

Mais um português aqui =)

Tomar it is a beautiful city, and would be an excellent ad-on to the AC series. Some people even said that all Portuguese discoveries were paid by the Templars in an attempt to find the New World and evade Europe, to create a new "world" contructed by their onw hands. Many cities were built by the Free-Masons, wich are a group that descend from the Templars.

there are so many european countries to explore and the series is so popular-chances are ubisoft will try to make as many games as possible with as many countries to explore as possible even if the series goes past 2012

+1 tuga aqui.

It would be cool to see a AC game during the 1755 Quake in Lisbon or after, getting to climb the Rua Augusta Arch and see the Praça do Comércio and the River Tejo or Tagus, the tower of Belém, Jeróminos Monastery =)

its kinda simple but either they havent thought of it yet or they just dont wana do it ( mabye just for now) there are only a few games our right now and im pretty sure even tho AC said it was planned to be a trilogy, it will expand rapidly into a bunch of games ( they couldnt sum up the end of the story in 1 game and they are making way too much money to cut it off at 3) but your right that would be an awesome place to be. mabye a pretty cool finale to the franchise :P although id doubt it
