Hmmm, I had a similar problem a few years back,
can't quite recall what the problem was.
Possibly, your music files in the inflight folder are not the right 'type', ie: wav file with the wrong KHz setting, stereo instead of mono? Something like that...
Check that you are using the correct format wav files in the inflight folder. Manual has info in this.
Sorry I can't be of more help at the mo, sitting at work without any references available.
BTW, well done on your first post! What took you so long?

About how to setup a proper mp3 etc....?

well, no luck, everything I tried made it worse not better, and yes they've been converted to wav files.

Let me get a bit more info, I'll try to help over the next few days (sorry, dashing between work and other business for awhile)
What version of IL2 are you running?
Does it repeat the same song over, 10 seconds at a time? Or move onto the next song?
You say they are in wav format - check that they are in the CORRECT wav format.
An excerpt from the manual describes:
"The sound files must be in the 11025 Hz, Mono, 16-bit format. To be used in game they must be converted into Windows RIFF wave files (*.wav). The file data format must be MPEG-1 Layer 3 @ 20 kbps 11025 Hz Mono. This can be achieved using the appropriate sound editor, such as Sonic Foundry, SoundForge, Sonic Foundry Batch Converter, CoolEdit, e.t.c"
Let me know what you find. As I said previously, I had a similar problem awhile back - around the time PF was released. For the life of me, I cannot remember what I did to fix it, but I think it's related to the wrong wav format.
