I appologize for posting this again but its been a while and this game is still running horribly. I just installed both expansions to IL-2 FB, I am having horrible framerates in PF as well as standard FB and the original IL-2, I dont think its any of my hardware as its all up to date, and just formatted my HD. Im running at 800x600x16 with all settings as low as they can go, with a whopping 25 fps... Talk about 486 style graphics! With all settings maxed out im under 15 fps. I can run Half-life 2 everything as high as it goes, with 8x AA and 16x AF keeping from 35-100 fps, so I think there is a problem with my cofiguration with the actual game itself.

In FB setup this is whats listed:
DirectX (I've tried opengl to no avail)
800x600x16 full screen
no stencil buffer
nvidia 6800 graphics card selected (similar architecture to 7800 in most ways but this could be a problem)
I have tried all the other suitable settings as well

Here are my computer specs
WinXP home edition SP 2
AMD 64 3000+ (1.8ghz stock clock, Ive heard this game is pretty CPU limited, but still...)
EVGA 7800 GTX 77.77 drivers (most recent drivers, 7400 3dmark05)
1gb dual channel ram
Asus A8n deluxe
120 gb 7200 hd
2.5 gb page file

Hello there, You may want to move your post to the community help section, it will get more attention and everyone is always glad to help. I figure you should be getting al least 50-70fps avg. depending on settings. Sorry I can't help I am just not that good at trouble shooting problems on other people's computers. I have a 3.4 p4, 1gb ram and an x800xl and get an avg. of 55fps under heavy action. I have my eye candy set pretty high with 4aa/trillinear and water 0, perfect landscape. Your CPU is definatly up to the job and your gfx card is top of the line. Also check out airwarfare.com they have an excellent faq section over there with greast tutorials on system settings. Oh, also check out tweakguides.com for the windows xp tweak guide for general system smoothness.
take care
