Indeed, it makes furballs rather immersive.

You sure it's BoB VoW?

Because I've never heard of a game called Battle of Britain Vings of Wictory before.

From a video I just recently watched: personally, I find it very unrealistic to hear the sounds outside of the aircraft as well as in BoB II WOV.

Now, the inside engine sounds were nice, I do like that part.

amen. makes a huge difference. it's a total shame that Il2 never allowed the sounds to be modded except for the pilot voices. thankfully, some very crafty people have made some very killer voice packs like the ones from Extreme One. The German, RAF and Russian voice overs were 100 times beter than what came shipped out of the box.

As for the sounds in WOV - you're spot on. Beefy, robust - convincing. Il2 can only muster a sound that resembles a lawn mower. When a Spit fires up, it should be awe inspiring. In il2, my stinking Toyota Camry sound more menacing. The only good thing is that hopefully Oleg now realizes that sound plays a huge part in creating the illusion of air combat. He's got the eye candy dialed in but the sound is rather..in need of Viagra. Good job to the crew at WOV in the sound department.

I'm going to sound a dissenting voice.

I think it's sh*t.

I'm stuck witha forward view - why do none of the views work? Why can't I look around with my mouse? Why is there no facility to switch the effing engine on/off? Why does the game only recognise my joystick and pedals 25% of the time?

Otherwise graphics are OK sound is nice but it's still like the original BoB, buggy as hell which now means I've wasted still more money on this dog. Oh well.

Don't spare the horses Oleg.

Grrr.

Strange... it works like a charm for me. I suggest you use all that pent up energy to look through the obvious control setup options of the game. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Failing that check out shockwave.com forums. The guys over there are very very helpful :-)

Perservere, this sim is worth it.

will have a look on the shockwave forums - I want to like this sim I really do, if only to see large scale aircraft formations running at FPS of more than 0.5.

I'm sure it has potential and will see if I can get some of these questions answered.

Oh yeah, game set up! Top tip, thanks fella http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Well I remember old BoB... that game was nasty when it comes down to Controls section. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
