official website (http://pixeluxentertainment.com) and a demonstration (http://www.lucasarts.com/media/games/theforceunleashed/dmm.mov)

maybe it can be of use in the sequels, even in the first game, of the franchise (if there's enough time).

Interesting,i thought games like half life 2 use this, for example in counter strike source on the level cs_office (for those of you that know that) if you shoot the glass windows it breaks like a glass window might (i dont know how a glass window would in real life since ive never shot one before) also in halflife 2 the boxes containig ammo you must break usuing a crobar break like i would expect them too. So your telling me that unless half life 2 usues DMM technology they had to make every single combonation of breaking by themselves?

i hope i made sense

I havent played the same halflife 2 than you...
because my crowbar attacks on wooden crates do not produce realistic effects like DMM!
I cant wait to see DMM in action in the next Starwar game, it will be awesomme http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

So i guess the gravity gun was just some weird orange-looking thing that did nothing except make humming noises?

the gravity gun has nothing to do on how object is destroyed and react to forces( except physic ) applied to them...
the gravity gun = use the PHYSIC engine ( HAVOK in the case of Source )

Want to see real realism in a game? Check out the game:
Crysis (http://www.gametrailers.com/gamepage.php?id=2509)
with CryEngine2 it's the most realistic game I ever seen.

half-life 2 uses this (MOPP) (http://www.havok.com/content/view/17/30/).

the ubi montreal dev team has propably implemented something like DMM, in/for the scimitar engine.

But depending on how you would throw the box, it would break differently. things dont all break the same, they break,or scratch, or dent.

heres an example (http://scratchanddentworld.com/)

yep I understand... but it's really not the same thing... and it's a little bit too complicated for me to explain it in writting in a forum... DMM is MORE accurate and lifelike!

Ya i know what you mean, im just saying that HL2 is a lot like that and is also a good example (maybe a little better then throwing r2d2 at wood)

I watched those a little while ago and it won't be in Assassins Creed - the technology is exclusive to Lucas Arts until 2008 I believe. Also I haven't played Half-Life 2 and so can't compare them but Lucas Arts DMM looks impressive as does they're new AI technology (can't remember the name right now - euphoria or something?)

information (http://www.lucasarts.com/games/theforceunleashed/gameinfo/news/technology.html) about the technology that Star Wars: The Force Unleashed uses.

If only the CryEngine2, DMM, and Euphoria combined...

That would require a quad core processor.

LucasArts bought the DMM Engine's rights for two years. So maybe in the next AC.
