Makes flying missions rather hard when 90% of the AI planes in my squadron decide to lawn dart.

If I fly on auto pilot my own plane normally manages to crash into the ground.

It tends to get boring flying for 40 minutes to get to the action so my auto pilot doesn't kill me. But then I die when I get to the action because most of my squadron is dead. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

Hm. I just may say the same thing as you. I fly J8A Finnish 1941 campaign. And the cause of over 90% deaths of my virtual squadronmates is when they accidentally hit the dust. Most of these crashes are occuring in fight with the enemy (not *by* enemy, but bad script for AI http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif).

But also my say that that part of the game is improved, tho. I remember times when, after succesfully completing mission, I must watch the screen all the time if I engage autopilot on the way home. Nowadays that is improved. A bit. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

Also, watch for autopilot when your squadron meets the enemy (mid-air collisions with squadronmates is common event), and in the process of landing. On these two occasions AI tends to crash into land a lot.

The Dynamic Campaign engine installed with the game (DGEN) had some issues with proper waypoint generation (especially around hills) - as a result the AI often crash into things.

This has been addressed in DGEN 3.11 beta - which has conveniently disappeared off the front page. You will find the announcement in the news archive for October go to the news archive - http://www.pacific-fighters.com/en/archives.php - and select October, its down the bottom with some links for the download.

Its not a large download only about 1meg - and is very easy to install. Note that it does not change your game version, merely replaces some files in the DGEN folder (extract files in the archive into your PF installation - being sure to keep the path names).

Cheers

This BETA 3.11 DGen thing.. it doesn't work with just v2.4, does it? (I have currently only v2.04 untill I laid my hands on PF box http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif).

I don't have DGEN installed and I had a whole flight of A20's crash into the mountains. Some laster longer than others but they all ended up a smoking hole.

Que? How can you not have DGEN installed? It is the dynamic campaign engine included with PF (and previously with FB). The DGEN 3.11 beta just replaces a bunch of files within this component.

Atomic_Marten - I suggest that you do not apply DGEN 3.11 beta over your FB:Aces v2.04 install. The update is intended to fix issues in the PF version.
