The game keeps popping up a message every couple of minutes that my controller got disconnected even though it hasn't and is working fine, seems to happen specifically only when im in the middle of playing.works fine in the menus. I'm only having this problem with Trials everything else works fine.

Hi Nergrim! I am sorry to hear that your controller keeps disconnecting while playing. Do you have another controller you could try it on?

Also could you try putting it into a different USB port to see if that helps? Finally, could you confirm the controller make/model?

Thanks!

Well it appears to be working fine when its connected through the usb for now. its a PS4 controller btw.
Bluetooth seems to be the problem, although as i said im only having this problem in Trials.
Do not have any other controllers to try it with.

Thanks for the update Nergrim! Are you launching the game through Steam or Steam Big Picture Mode by chance?

Hi my controller keeps disconnecting also. i'm using an Xbox one controller. i play other games with same controller pretty regularly but many times last night my controller disconnect. i unplug wireless adapter,, plug back in, hold xbox pwr to turn it off, ,turn back on, works for a bit then disconnects with flashing xbox light. now tonight i get on and it won't work for more then a few seconds. doing same steps. i had already restarted my PC today. don't' know what is going on. It's fully charged so i know it's not a battery issue.I'm using uplay only, not steam, windows 10.

i used to have non-stop issues with my PS4 controller for years why i switch xbox because i absolutely cannot have my controller disconnecting in rocket league. now like xbone one is doing same thing only in this game. i'll start following microsoft's PC troubleshooting for the controller :(

EDIT: wow microsoft basically tells me click setting on my PC click bluetooth & other devices then xbox wireless controller. if not working then replace controller. with no further troubleshooting at all. that is worst troubleshooting procedures ever, not even mentioning restarting my PC or anything. i certainly can't trust that...

Edit2: deleted/uninstalled adapter in devices,,, re-binded my xbox one controller to adapter following procedures on microsoft. light when solid, booted up trials rising, got about 30 seconds into track, disconnected again with flashing xbox logo on controller again. i have no interest in trying microusb... i did that for first few years of rocket league, those wear out quickly and disconnect worst then wireless, i've gone through a dozen USB cables doing that without moving controller at all while playing, not fun. Sad controllers still use microusb instead of USB-C or something better.

Edit3: restarted PC and suddenly working again, played a few hours without issue. so apparently don't need to replace my controller per miscrosofts troubleshooting and wasn't batteries. sigh. hopefully doesn't happen again. my PC was freshly booted up when i got home.

Exactly same problem here : Ps4 controller, cursor move alone, on / ooff + re-paring = ok but always disconnecting while playing. No problems in other game.

So im having a similar problem. Im using an xbox one controller on my PC through bluetooth, and the game will go from solid 60 FPS to 2-4 FPS for about 4 minutes (sometimes less), then disconnect my controller from bluetooth. After my controller has been disconnected, the game goes back to normal. It happens maybe once every few hours though.

Hello,
I have exactly the same problem with DualShock 4 (V1 and V2). When I connect them in usb they disconnect constantly and this spoils the gaming experience.
If I connect them in bluetooth, they become unusable ... The controllers bug and I have to disconnect them to leave the game ...
I do not understand how ubisoft and redlynx can commercialise a game (very good game, by the way) without even functioning properly ... In addition, the xbox one controllers for pc and DualShock 4 are announced as supported, which is far from reality ...
I hope all this will be fixed quickly via an update, because for now I do not play any more because of all these problems.

UP Please!!!

My controller continue to disconnect and it's horrible to play with a game like this!!! Can some people of UBISOFT or REDLYNX can answer to us please!! How can you commercialise a game with supposed full support of controllers like XBOX ONE and PS4 controllers while it doesn't work propely... Seriously it's very disappointing and a bit un unacceptable...
Please DO SOMETHINGS for customers that buy almost all your games!
Thank you

I noticed that when you aim and shoot the controller seems to disconnect itself on my Xbox One X. To resolve the issue, I turned off the Vibration in the settings and the problem disappeared.

Thank for sharing AlekLubczynski. This is the Trials Rising forum, but I am glad to see you found a solution.
