View Full Version : [PC][Steam] A couple of bugs

I read the post saying I should have a descriptive title but I've encountered a few of bugs and don't think it would be right to make separate posts for each of them. Windows 10 x64 Version 1809 (OS Build 17763.316), Steam version, Xbox One S controller, Asus PCIe bluetooth card, Core i5-4670K, GTX 760 x2 SLI.

The first issue I've seen posted on these forums already. The controller input icons in the game are bugged and always show left analog stick. It's made it difficult to learn how to navigate but it doesn't appear to have effected the button mappings, so you can still control the game. It's just unclear what you should be doing at times.

Secondly, I think some of the default button mappings for Xbox controllers are weird. I'm used to pressing start to open and close the main menu, as well as the bumpers instead of the triggers to switch between menu tabs.

Thirdly, I made many, MANY attempts to finally get the gold medal on the stadium finals. A number of times during these hours of attempts, when pressing the button to restart a track from the beginning (select) the game would freeze on the loading screen. Well, not freeze as such, the wheel was still spinning, but it would never load.. I'd have to forcefully close it with Alt-F4. Starting the game again works fine, but the issue would occur again some time later.

Fourthly, when restarting the stadium finals one time I was loaded into the race with no other racers. It was just me, all alone, in the 8 lane track. Oddly enough this did allow me to focus and after just a few more resets (the bug persisted on all future resets until I restarted the game) I was able to cinch the gold.

Fifthly, when I first launched the game I turned the graphics settings up to the max. Max, to my mind, is VSync off, because in almost every game I can think of the experience is many times smoother. When the game barely ran, I was confused and turned the settings to low. Still it was unplayable. More experimenting and I discovered that only when VSync is enabled does the game run at above 8 fps. Turning VSync off is a common decision for many gamers. I saw another post in here complaining about unplayable performance and I suspect he have made the same mistake. I commented my solution on his post as well, just in case it helps.

Sixthly, every time I close the game it seems to identify as "crashed" and wants to generate a report. It's just annoying.

Seventhly, it would be nice if there was some way to just display the stickers you already own, when customizing. If you're out of dosh it's a pain to see which you can afford to use.

Eighthly, as not so much a bug as an annoyance. I'd preordered the game through steam, but as steam hasn't (and probably won't until after launch) exposed the product key yet, Uplay has no idea I've preordered. I keep getting popups in the game to preorder and I'm not buying it twice. This will probably not be an issue when the beta is ended and the game is properly launched.

2: Thank you for the feedback, I will pass that along.

3: This has been reported, but it would be beneficial if you could provide your MSinfo and DXDiag (https://support.ubi.com/en-GB/faqs/000023904/How-To-Submit-Dxdiag-MSinfo/) via support ticket on our website (https://support.ubi.com) so the team can investigate it further?

4: I have not encountered any other reports of this yet, are you able to provide any images or video of the issue?

5: Again, we would need your MSinfo and DXDiag so we can look into that further

6: The team are aware of this and are working on a fix!

7: I will pass that feedback along.

8: This will not be an issue when the game comes out, it is only an issue for now as the game is in beta.
