View Full Version : Where does paint go?

OK, so I painted an initial P-40 scheme (work-in-progress) and placed the bmp file into all the P-40 skins subdirectories. But only the Default and Void models come up as options in the plane customization settings. So what is the trick? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_confused.gif Thanks.

The skin file has to be saved as an 8-bit bmp file or it won't show up in your skins folder.

The file needs to be 8 Bit (as Jocko says) or 256 colours. It also can't exceed 1024x1024.

When you save your file, you need to make sure it's a "Windows or O/S2 bitmap (*.bmp)" file and that the colour depth is 8 Bit/256 colours.

It should show up in the folder then when you're in game.

http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif Ah ha. That's the culprit. I was working in PSP with 16 mil colors... (too used to doing hirez cars for NR2003)
