I am playing AEP v2.04. While looking through the planesDeX.dat files in the DGen folder I can see no mention of the 190 A6. I take this to mean that this plane never becomes available in campaigns. I was wondering, if I added the A6 into one of the planesDeX.dat files would it become available (without messing up the game code or anything). Is there some historical reason this a/c is not available by default?

yep, two classic historical reasons. oversight/forgetfulness and lazyness http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

Yes, by all means you can add it or any other planes that were not added, such as the Lagg3-29 and 35, to name just a few. You have to add only flyables of course and must pay attention to red vs. blue ( axis or allied ) for the planes##.dat files. You can also add them to the DB files, so the newer type will show up as AI aircraft!!! In this case you can add unflyable aircraft to the list too. When you fly Russian, then you might find yourself fighting against the FW-190A6. For example, if you wanted the A6 to show up in the Leningrad44 subcampaign, go to the Dgen folder and edit the Leningrad44.DB file and add it to the list, then you just have to add a number before it to dictate how many will potentially be in the area and how frequently you'll run into it. See my example below. As you can see I added it and decided to add 25 of them. Of course I don't know how historical that number is but I never cared. Some might care about being historical, I don't.
Also see my other thread that tell how to do other stuff here: http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/26310365/m...291009253#9291009253 (http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/26310365/m/4871026732/r/9291009253#9291009253)

I think those who use the DCG add-on as a campaign generator can also choose the FW190-A6 with just a mouse click.

But I tried DCG quie a few times over a two year period and never did like it much for some reason. I got bit by it once and somehow deleted my campaigns. I have been scared of it ever since. It just is not user-friendly and is not exactly self-explanatory to use either. Many of us still prefer Dgen for that reason. Seems to be safer and easier to use. Only takes a few minutes to make edits like we are talking about.

No problem, always trying to help people get more out of the game.
