Hi,

I am having a problem trying to get my Thrustmaster F1 Steering wheel's pedals to work as rudder pedals in IL-2 FB.

My setup is as follows:
Windoze XP home edition, fully patched.
Thrustmaster USB F1 Force Feedback steering wheel and pedals.
Microsoft Sidewinder 2 Force Feedback joystick.
Other bits http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Both devices work fine in the control panel, all axis and buttons work great with both devices plugged in. The Joystick is the preferred device. However, in FB, if both devices are plugged, it basically does not recognize any axis of the joystick, it does, however, recognize buttons.

I want to use the F1 pedals as rudder pedals and the joystick as normal. Has anyone got any hints and tips on how to do this or could it be a bug?

Regards,
Matt.

A favorite topic of mine... XP and rudder pedals!

First, calibrate your input devices in XP. If your joystick is really ID#1 it will be first in the list of game controllers. Note: to get my car pedals to calibrate as rudder pedals I had to wiggle the steering wheel a little to center the calibration crosshair, THEN push each pedal to get the proper range. You said this was OK though, so you should see the 'crosshair' move with each movement of the device.

B, Make sure your FB 'Input Devices' menu HOTAS section lists your pitch, yaw, roll etc as linked to controller ID#1 (it wont actually say ID1 though, it just will say X-Axis, Y-Axis etc. The HOTAS section is way down at the bottom of the screen where you assign all the key functions. To do this, click on the box to the right of 'Pitch' and push the stick forward, click on 'Roll' and move the stick right etc... (note: I'm just going from memory on which motion is which direction of the joystick!)

Three, Your car/rudder pedals should be listed under HOTAS rudder with ID#2 (i.e. -Z-Axis ID2). If not click on the box and press the pedals to assign this function to them.

If this rambling mess still wasn't enough help let me know!
