I installed the game but when I try to play it says "The application was unable to start correctly".
I tried all the version found on the Internet to solve this problem, but still no luck.

I use a 64-bit Windows 7 with the next configuration:
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2600K CPU @ 3.40GHz (8 CPUs), ~3.4GHz
Installed memory: 16GB RAM
Card name: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 Ti
DirectX Version: DirectX 11

If anyone has found the solution, please reply. I am very anxious to play this game

Actions taken to Fix: Start the game as a Admin from the installation folder directly from the EXE instead of doing it through Uplay (but with Uplay runing in the background).

Ever since today's update, my game crashes while launching, too.

AMD FX 6350 Six Core Prozessor, 3900 MHz, 16GB RAM, GeForce GTX 970, Windows 7

tried it as admin via exe, but that didn't work either.

Same issue here - was also the same yesterday. Ironically this morning after the previous update it seemed to be working, the start screen appeared... but I had to go to work. :nonchalance:

Another update this evening and it's back to the 3 secs of black screen, shiny cursor and crash.

Same for me. Game stuck on black screen after launch

CPU: Intel Core I5-2500K
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060
GPU Brand: NViDIA
GPU Driver Version: 417.71
RAM: 8Go
OS: Windows 10
Direct X Version: DirectX 12

I have tried run game as administrator but it doesn't help.

Me too. Having the same issue. Worked fine before, after update crash on startup.

I am trying to verify the files to see if that helps but since another guy reinstalled the entire game without success i think it will not help much. So this means the beta is already over lol. Unless they patch it in the next few days.

Anno 1800 Closed Beta crashes on my PC right after starting as well. Since the start of Beta the Warning: Read Before Playing screen and a mouse cursor are the only things that I'm able to see.

I tried all the solutions mentioned before:
- basic PC troubleshooting FAQ
- verifying files/installing updates [two times]
- reinstallation [two times]
- launching UPlay as admin
- launching the game as admin from the game's folder while UPlay running
- installing newest graphics drivers
- closing all programs running in the background
- disabling UPlay overlay

I've sent all the crash reports I've had. In the .log files there are errors about not able to find the path specified or could not open files.

Currently I'm downloading the game for the 3rd time. I want to see if it will launch without downloading the update.

My system:
Windows 7, i7-4790K, 2x8 GB DDR3 2400MHz CL10, GTX 1080, Z97X-Gaming 5

Hello everyone!

@SHI_NI_GAMI_ Can you confirm what settings you are running the game at? You CPU meets the minimum requirements, but does not quite meet the recommended requirements. Have you tried using DX11 instead of DX12?

@sosch77. Your CPU does not meet the minimum requirements for the beta (https://support.ubi.com/en-GB/faqs/000040424/System-requirements-for-the-Anno-1800-Closed-Beta/). I apologize for any frustration.

@xMSyx Your GPU does not meet the minimum requirements, and your CPU just barely does not met the requirements.

@dead_ang3l1 Your GPU also does not meet the minimum requirements.

@ Hoggchoppa Your PC appears to meet the recommended requirements. I'd recommend verifying your game files, (https://support.ubi.com/en-US/Faqs/000019000/Install-Uninstall-Verify-A-Game-in-Uplay) and doing a clean install of your GPU's drivers (https://support.ubi.com/en-gb/faqs/000025720/Nvidia-Driver-Clean-Installation).I'd also recommend running Uplay and Anno as an Admin on your PC (https://support.ubi.com/en-GB/Faqs/000025662/Run-applications-with-administrator-rights/).

@Evene82 You should meet the minimum requirements for the game. Can you also try verifying your game files and a clean install of your GPU's drivers as well?

@nikkijkirk What are your PC specs?

@alex06d Your CPU just barely does not meet the minimum requirements for the game. The most I can recommend for this would be these PC steps (https://support.ubi.com/en-us/faqs/000025947) and disabling extra background applications (https://support.ubi.com/en-GB/Faqs/000025721/Disabling-Background-Application/).

@ReznoRMichael Can you submit your MSINFO/dxdiag files (https://support.ubi.com/en-US/Faqs/Details/kA030000000emSbCAI?name=how-to-submit-dxdiag-and-msinfo-files) on a ticket, and reply back with your ticket number?

@Spetsk Can you also try a clean install of your GPU's drivers and disabling background applications?

Game Worked fine yesterday: kept away from dX12 as it seemed to have issues, set everything just to high, so it can run smoothly, and it did until today, after downloading the new patch.

Specs:
i7 6700 HQ 2.6 GHz
nvidia geforce gtx 965
8 gb ram
windows 10 os

Had a DirectX error after the game installation and several minutes play. (can share a screen if required)

Also faced very poor 3D performance on my laptop Dell XPS 9570 (Intel UHD 630 + GeForce GTX 1050 MaxQ)
because the game used Intel accelerator (despite displaying GeForce in graphics options).
Have solved this with NVidia Control panel when manually selected anno1800.exe at the Program Setting tab.

@MisterSosa21 Have you tried using DX11 instead of DX12? Did you try disabling background applications?

@kaazhaaz Glad to hear it!

@Zolanius01 Do you mean the GTX 965M? That GPU does not meet the minimum requirements. Are you able to clarify?

@MaxaryKo I am happy to hear you were able to find a workaround! We do recommend making sure your GPU is set as the primary GPU for your PC, especially if you have integrated graphics.

No problem, I'll be happy to help with providing any additional information. I've created a case - number 07888909 - and attached both files.
- - -
I downloaded the game for the 3rd time, but this time the game didn't ask to download the update, so I cannot check if it launches without updating. I also verified the files again + tried all the previous troubleshooting again, but still everything remains the same as before.

I've also sent all the crash reports this time too.

@PavloMalyi Can you try using DX11 instead of DX12? Some players have reported issues with DX12 specifically. Your PC specs do appear to at least meet the minimum requirements, but your GPU does not quite meet the recommended.

@ReznoRMichael Thank you so much! I checked your dxdiag file, and noticed your native resolution for you monitor runs at 60HZ, but you currently have it set to 80Hz. Can you try lowering it to 60Hz? Your NFO file was also showing as corrupted for me. Can you try rezipping your NFO file (https://support.ubi.com/en-GB/Faqs/000025876/Submitting-files-to-Ubisoft-Support/) and uploading it again? You may also upload it as a TXT file instead.

@BigSh4dow Thanks for that information! Is Uplay also installed on the same drive as Anno? I'd recommend a clean install of your NVIDIA drivers (https://support.ubi.com/en-gb/faqs/000025720/Nvidia-Driver-Clean-Installation).

@BigSh4dow Can you install Anno on the same drive Uplay is on? Or vice versa? We generally recommend having both on the same drive your OS is on.

You need to verify your installation files. The patch screwed something up and corrupted some files possibly DX as after the verification finished it reinstalled dx.

Played just fine!.

No problem! Yes, my monitor is "overclocked" a bit. I changed to the default native 60Hz, but it didn't help.

Hmm, msinfo32 is weird, for me it also shows that the file is corrupted. I tried saving it again about 11 times, but still the same info, so I repaired WMI and rebuilt the database, did also sfc /scannow - everything was fine, but the generated files still didn't open. So I did something silly, but it worked - I opened the .nfo file with Notepad++, and just resaved it again from there [also as .nfo]. Voila, suddenly msinfo32 can open it! Should be okay now, I added the "fixed" file to the Case.

Also my UPlay is installed on C:, but Anno is installed in F:\Ubisoft. Unfortunately I don't have enough room on C: to check if it will work from there :( But I suppose I could try reinstalling UPlay on F:\.
---
Edit: For now I created Directory Junctions for default C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\games and then also custom C:\Ubisoft, and pointed them to F:\Ubisoft, but this had absolutely no effect, the game still crashes after launch from both locations.

This POS closed beta hung entire Windows 10 while starting up and needlessly reinstalling DirectX.
Why you even do this at Windows 10. It is freaking up to date all the time.

No wonder you pushed back release date a few months later. Game is in ridicules state, pure garbage right now.
Uninstalled.

Game is crashing just after first screen with game cursor.
