I hadn't been to the Rise of Flight site for a while, so I popped in for a look at the progress. I found this:

I can only hope that the explosions and physics are this good in SoW! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif

The explosions do look impressive. But what about those self-healing bomb craters (overhead view about 1:06 in)?

Yeah, strange...from 1:07 till 1:27 I see them disappear.
And IMO the black smoke disappears too quickly also. But who am I, I have never been a pilot during WOI.

But I have to admit, it is impressive with those sounds.

Still not available. Perhaps YouTube has some personal vendetta against me.

But I bet such things will be somehow adjustable, just like in IL2 via conf.ini but better. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

BTW have you registered at youtube?

I'm having the same problem as Choctaw.
I've been trying on and off for past 6 hours
I know he's in the US and I'm in the UK.

For those who can't view this YouTube vid: maybe using Google Video will help a bit?

http://video.google.nl/videose...on&hl=nl&emb=0&aq=f# (http://video.google.nl/videosearch?q=rise+of+flight+explosion&hl=nl&emb=0&aq=f#)

By the way, I think that one the developers of ROF likes the sound of little birdies. At the beginning of this video I can hear them and I've heard them before on some other ones...

Have you updated to the latest version of Flash? Older versions don't seem to work any more.

It's a step more than I expected. Only bump is the craters "healing" to nothing in seconds. Or is that just a server set for
day/night cycle = maybe 2 hours? If I cratered someone's runway I wouldn't want them able to use it 10 seconds later!

But really, the advance! Wow! The craters are a very minor point! Did that Fokker DVII on the right in the first set get
turned a bit by being hit by shrapnel one time there before being rocked bad by the shockwaves of the last two blasts?

Was that artillery or airstrike?

I am hoping some addon has a Zeppelin. While I dream of pie in the sky, it should be online multi-crew capable and have the
little observation car on cable like shown in Hell's Angels. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif Even if that's all the addon did.

Add: My fave: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BLvhny6BjwU

Just go to http://riseofflight.com/en/index.html and you can look at all of the previews (in a slightly smaller format).

I think it was artillery because of the waves and timing, but I'm just guessing. Either way, it would be poo-your-pants frightening to be waiting to takeoff and have that drop all around you!

Does anyone else need a dribble cup like I do? That was awesome. I like how planes flipped if a round hit next to it and shockwaves rocked them.
