What would you guys say to an Anno in the Era of greece, egypt and rome. This would be so nice, so many possibilities: different kind of ships, buildings, products, peoples and so on. It would be so nice in a anno game, but now i cant wait to grind Anno 1800

Personally I am hoping for a new Futuristic Anno. I know we had 2205 but I really didn't like it because they removed lots of mechanics that made Anno good from it. I liked Anno 2070 best.

Really would like an anno set in ancient Greek or Rome, one of my absolute favorite time periods in history. But I also think it could be cool to explore traditional China or even the vikings, granted it'll probably not work well with citizen tiers and productions.

One set in current time I think would be pretty cool too, since there's already a lot of cool things about the era we live in.

Anno 3060

I really want a Anno in space. Like with entire planets or star systems instead of islands.

I like the idea.
Please Anno development team, forgive about taking a rest after 27 February and start something like this! ;)

I like the step back in history. Hope there will be a good fight system like in 1503

They also teased Anno 1305 in the presentation of Anno 2070. They have invited all the journalists to their studio and started the presentation of Anno 2070 all over the screen there has been the logo of Anno 1305 on a stylish plank like 1404 - remember 1404 was the anno before 2070. They did this that the journalists think "come on, don't you guys have any new ideas?"
Later on when the presentation started it zoomed out and the plank of 1305 was just an ad inside of Anno 2070. That caused so much confusion that some even asked if they are serious with 2070.
So maybe 1305 ist just their running gag for new annos.
I don't think they have decided what to come after 1800 just jet so 1305 and all other possibilities are still up to the races.
I didn't know Anno 1305 was a sort of gag for this long, I already thought it'd be strange if they spoiled a potential next release already, even if it's somewhat hidden.

I hope for a remastered 2070 with upgraded graphics, 4k graphics, UI scaling and better maps. Same voice actors and music, maybe some new tracks. Loved 2070... I think I have over a thousand hours on it

A medieval Anno in the future, after a nuclear war.

two birds with one stone. ;)

Maybe with steampunk elements. Backward society with futuristic technolgy.

I totally agree with an Anno in Ancient times.

Persians, Romans, Greeks, Babylonians, Karthaginians... there are so many different cultures with different needs.

I could even imagine something like a mediteranean sea map. You still have your ships, but the land variant of ships are caravans crossing the open areas between different cities on the same "island".
Unfortunately it's just a dream and perhaps not really the way of Anno ;-)

I am torn between the future, maybe as Meister.Elodin suggested a post apocalyptic, or even future setting would be amazing. Colonizing a great desert world a la DUNE, Mad Max or setting up on an ice world. If post-apocalyptic. Humanity could be colonizing Antarctica to escape irradiated lands after a Nuclear War. The probabilities are endless in the Future/Sci-Fi genre. And the past! There are many great settings to take in the past. (Like that needed saying)

However, I personally think I would like one based around the inter war period. I know colonialism was waning at this point, but a WWI/WWII themed game would possibly work. You have a context for fighting battles (not that it is needed, but it helps.) It was also a revolutionary period for technology. So a varied, exotic Tech Tree could be possible. Maybe bring back the Sub mechanic from 2070 so you can utilise U Boats and Submarines. Have settlements to fund the Empire's war machines and you establish military presences to expand their sphere. Sort of like the Pacific campaign. with the US establishing bases on all their Islands/Atolls.

I think of a scenario around the great migration Humanity has gone on would be interesting. A multi-Generation story of treking out of the Rift Valley, establishing the first settlements and so on.

I have always wanted a Anno in the age of the Greek and Romans that would be the most epic anno ever seen in my opinion. There would be so many possibilities. The war would be awesome as i already talked of before on my idea's on ground warfare. The trade system, the factions, the naval warfare... it would all fit sooooo good in Anno.

My second favorite option would be an Anno at WW1. when there was a really big change in technology and warfare. New stuff to find and aviation would be cool to see.

And an Anno back in the future could also be cool but maybe on a bigger scale and further into the future. Where you should travel between solarsystems and should terraform planets/ moons before you could inhabit them. (just an idea)

I'd like to see Anno 2304 with multisession multiplayer and ground forces. Loved 2205 even for all its flaws. Would love to see a future Anno done as brilliantly as all that came before 2205.

Anno, it's only the past and not the future ...
I have always been surprised by title 2070 instead of 2700 or 2007, the third digit outside this title has always been 0.
Anno 900 or Anno 009 :)

Hello,

NOTE :
The creation of the game "Anno 1800" took advantage of the work already done by UBISOFT in the game "ASSASSIN'S CREED Syndicate" and also "ROGUE" which takes place at the same time "the industrial revolution".

Some of the UBISOFT work, like :
The Sounds,
3D models,
The Animations (motion capture)
Historical research
and more

: could be used directly in "ANNO 1800" by UBISOFT (Internal copyright contract).

SO

Why not also take advantage of the UBISOFT team's work in the game ASSASSIN'S CREED ORIGINS (Egypt) for a future opus of the game "Anno" ??

{ this is probably what is already being prepared behind the scenes of UBISOFT, in secret. }

To respond to the question :
"What is the future ANNO we want to play after ANNO 1800"

I present to you :

" ANNO -3006 BC "

https://nsm09.casimages.com/img/2018/11/30/18113006101616558416019138.jpg (https://nsm09.casimages.com/img/2018/11/30/18113006065916558416019129.jpg)

( or just " -3000 BC " )

But all the Anno TITLE have a total of "9" in the date :

Anno 2205 = 2+2+0+5 = 9
Anno 2070 = 2+0+7+0 = 9
Anno 1800 = 1+8+0+0 = 9
Anno 1701 = 1+7+0+1 = 9
Anno 1602 = 1+6+0+2 = 9
Anno 1503 = 1+5+0+3 = 9
Anno 1404 = 1+4+0+4 = 9

For the historical accuracy is possible to choose : -2601 BC = for the Pharaoh "Kufu" (The Reign of Cheops") starting with the parent of "Khéops" and the Born of the Pharaoh in -2598 BC { and don't forget the "9" = 2+6+0+1 of the Anno Title}

NOTE :
"ANNO" = means : "Anno Domini" (latin), " AD " = means : " Years of the Divine Master " (or "time from God")
more precisely : Anno Domini Nostri Jesu Christi (ADNJC), means : "After Christ Born"

But :
"BC" (Before Christ) is said in Latin "Ante Vero Incarnationis Domini" (AVID) or "Ante Christum Natum" (ACN) or "Anno Ante Domini" (AAD)

It would be like an "Antique time"

or like an "ANNO Aegypticus" :

play Pharaoh and build temples and pyramids !

To be able to see all the construction of the pyramid and Temples.

IMPORTANT :
To be able to choose which animated version one wishes to see on the screen in game :
in a small choice of several different theories of construction of the pyramids,
as:
- "Jean-Pierre Houdin" (The internal ramp).
or that of :
- "Davidovits" (Geopolymer = aglomerated stones).
or :
- "Chris Masseys" (Water + Float Blocks).

THAT WILL BE AWESOME !

Thanks.

Hope it will be in ancient time with not one civilisations to develop but many as Greeks, Babylonians, Karthaginians. Because with anno 1800 they reach mostly the perfect game, one possibility to upgrade the game is to have acess at different civilisation which are all developed. My second choice is in the futur, I like anno 2205 maybe more futuristic will be cool too ;)

I would love the 20th Century if done right and thats my major gripe with the future. I love the future but Anno 2070 and 2205 have major issues in their depiction (and 2205 isn't really an Anno to begin with), the whole design is extremely sterile, the major color is blue, it's all in all very cold. Alien, Star Wars, Blade Runner, StarCraft or Warhammer 40k are way better because way more unique. It's not "Okay SciFi let's make everything transparent, bright, clean, blue, simple". The future Annos were generic and the eco/tycoon part was awful black and white. All in all, bland and lazy. So if there is another scenario moving forward in time it shouldn't be so generic, it needs to be Anno in gameplay and the look and design should be welcoming and interesting instead of iAnno.

While my biggest wish is a 20th Century Anno maybe starting around the 30s and ending in the 2010s (and please with some nerdy goods!), I could also imagine a true SciFi Anno. Not settling on Mars and Moon but settlign on a completely different planet with strange creatures and plants. Everything is Anno but the environment is totally different and of course - aliens.

I can imagine an Anno in the ancient times but I am not so sure if it's really possible to carry an Anno title but maybe it would be a bit more spicey with a mythology approach?

Personally I would prefer to have Anno 1800 continuously developed and updated with new content after the release. 19th century is my favourite so I don't really need any other period in Anno. But if I were to choose I would pick Anno 2007 just because I am curious how devs would approach our current times.

@prgbrowne, that are they doing now. The closest they can get to that century is 1800 because they will probably stay with their habit to take the sum of the numbers to 9. But maybe if they would change the titel or so like ANNO WW1 then this could become possible. (sorry for my english, it has been a while)

There was a game on the Amiga 500+ called Megalomania. The idea was to start with nothing and work your way through the ages. Something like that for the Anno series would be great.

Anno 2205 was / is a pretty good game, but I found it the easiest of the Anno games that i've played. So maybe something with space / taking over planets / exploration (like a smaller version of Elite Dangerous) would be great. With the option of online multiplayer (I like to just sit and build huge empires on my own).

I would like to see Anno 356 BC when Alexander the Great was born. Conquer the world and play on different continents (like traveling to planets in 2205) Build cities allong the silk road in old Persia, China etc. and send exclusive good back home from far away country's.

An Empire Earth type Anno would be a dream. Start with a tent and continue on through the space age and beyond. A massive undertaking, I know but WOW! Maybe a sim_city with these animations and graphics.. I can but only dream?

I really love the idea of ancient china or india, especially considering that many goods etc. that are popular here actually are from asian countries (and only few people know it). It bears the great risk of cultural appropriation though, so this should definitely be made as a collaboration with a respective asian game studio or at least many historians from those countries.
