Sirs

I would be suprised if any follow on from Il2 would be a WWI simulation given that Russia's involvement in the war was curtailed by the events of October 1917. When the question of the next step in the IL2 franchise was polled I voted, along with over 30% or so of the rest of you (that participated) for a return to machine guns at 30 yards but I doubt if it will come to pass ("Shame" I hear you cry!).

However, for a good read I would heartily recommend Winged Victory by V M Yeates if you can find a copy - mine was printed in 1974 (and no, the film 'Winged Victory' is not based on the book). I just hope that if non-Brits can get hold of a copy, that it helps them to understand what it is to be quintessentially British.

Yours etc

I, for one, would like to see a WWI add-on for FB, even if it is tiny (like 2 scouts and 2 double seats)

Anyway, I am trying to do a little for that: (check www.netwings.org (http://www.netwings.org) forums for more)

Yep, it's an excellent read and gives a great feel for what it must have been like to be a WWI pilot. Well worth tracking down.
