If someone offered you either $150/week, or give you two slices of pizza (one time deal), what would you choose?

sounds pretty stupid, but I'll explain the reason I'm asking soon.

Well with $ 150 you can buy many pizzas actually....so I answered the money but should have answered with the "dumb question" answer. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

I would take the $150 please, that one seems logical, but since this will not be some kind of dumb question the best answer would be: mmm, pizza.

So, I vote the second one.

I'm hungry.

I refuse to answer such a blatantly cryptic question until you have explained yourself Sir!

If it's Zimbabwe $, I'll take the pizza, $150 Zimbabwe a week, would take a long time to accumulate enough to buy even one slice of pizza.
150 Zimbabwe Dollar = 0.005078 US Dollar
150 US Dollar (USD) = 4,431,158 Zimbabwe Dollar (ZWD)

I'm too hungry to make the appropriate decision.

I would take the pizza and really enjoy the moment.

no, it's Canadian dollars

Ok, well, here's the explanation. I work at a Toyota plant and we get paid at a flat hourly rate. we usually used to make about 140 parts per night. The last two weeks, their are two or three people that have been all gung-ho about making lots of parts during our shifts, because once a month, if we perform "well" our boss will bring in pizza, amounting 2 slices each.

Now, there's only 12 people in my section, so that's 24 slices, basically 3 or 4 pizzas, once a month. We just had our pizza last friday becuz we built to our desired numbers.

last night we made 200 parts (read: almost half a night's work over what we usually do) and no overtime on that. These two gung-ho girls, (I have to mention that the one is about as smart as a post and the other is a drug addict) well, these two girls were all excited about how if we kept up like this all week we could get pizza again.

well, I nearly flipped out, maybe it's because I had a groin injury and I had to run around all night supplying them with parts, but I just about snapped. We only get pizza once a month, and these girls think that if they make 1/2 days worth of parts extra each night, we will get it again this friday.

$150 is the roughly money we got for working an 8 hour overtime shift. When they were giddy about maybe getting pizza this Friday, I nearly snapped.

How can someone prefer 2 slices of pizza over $150, for doing the same amount of work as they are already doing?

12 people in my section equals about $1800 wages the company has to pay us. Whereas 4 or 5 pizzas cost the boss what? $60-70 at most.

I personally would prefer to get paid $150 and buy my own pizza, rather than work my *** of and not get paid anything but the base level, and maybe 2 slices of pizza once a month.

now, I understand that maybe this one crackhead has gotten too hopped up on blow before work and can't slow her body down, but this is ridiculous. btw, the dumb one, she's so stupid. she thought that if you faked sick on a friday, the company could take away all the wages you earned earlier that week.

The cynic in me wonders what kind of deal your boss is getting as a bonus with his way of boosting production, I'll bet it's a damn sight more than $150. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/shady.gif

People can be really weird sometimes.

I took over a business before that had a staff of about 20. My thinking is that anyone who works for me must be the better for it. I reorganized the schedule so that each person actually worked less hours for the same salary. Then I went a step further and arranged training sponsored by my wallet.

The results? Nothing. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/51.gif

I spoke with the previous owner of the company about what was going on. She laughed and told me I didn't understand people. She told me to by them an ice cream once a week. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif

So, I decided to try her advice. I canceled the training and put everyone back on their old shifts. Then I bought everyone an ice cream.

It worked. Production was up and they were happier. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif

People are weird, that's all.

lol, now they're demanding Chinese food instead of Pizza http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif bloody idiots.

Also, we built so many last night, that the other shift didn't have any parts to make, so they sat around half the day. The real kicker is that the other shift always comes in one hour of overtime each day in order to build more. So day-crew got paid more today to do less. The genius of the people I work with is just blinding!
