In the platinum DVD it would be possible have at least as bonus a french fighter flyable? In a platinum edition would be nice have some restyling (109 and P47 cockpit for ex...), and some new features...ok i'm dreaming...but it could be a nice idea. Why i'd to buy the same game?

BTW, you don't think that after all this time it would be nice give to the French community a flyable french fighter? Have you never had this idea in your mind?

The Curtiss Hawk 75/P36 would be the only aircraft that have any chance of inclusion in FB/PF, as there was once a small ammount of work done on a cockpit, and as nakamura_kenji says it is at least similar to the early P40.

No cockpit work has ever been done on the French built fighters that I know of. And even more difficult, no doubt, is the lack of good flight test data for them.

If there is a flyable Morane or H75, I will buy the DVD.
Indeed, if there is somethinh added to what we currently have, I will buy it.

Similar to:

"When monkeys fly outta my butt"

But you're exactly right about the odds of it happening. It's too bad, almost all the major powers are represented with flyables except the French.
Maybe a BoB Add-on?

What about the "good flight test datas" of the Horten flying wing, of the twin-109? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Btw, these datas are findable for the French fighters.

CHDT, I did not bring those up because it usually starts a flame war in here... but I agree.

Are there any good cockpit references for the French aircraft?

Yes, at least for the H75, MS406, D520, MB152 and even C714.
For the bombers, it's more difficult to find.

For the flight test data. Extensive test were done by the French air Force, and the reports does exist (mostly in the CEV archives). The problem is to find the connection and time to study these reports.

As consolation...there is what looks to be a very good team working on a Battle of France free addon for Battle of Britain. D.520s and MS.404's alongside Hurricane Mark I's of the BEF and 109E's and thats quite a battle there.

There are three allied fighters that deserve to be included on the Il-2/FB/AEP/PF engine wich is the best sim at the moment: one is the D.520 and the other is the Spitfire MK.I (why not an MK.II aswell), and P-38F.

OK, behind this 100%, just one thing to point out...

Who gets the cockpit?

1) The Yanks?(Imperial English) They invented it after all!

2) The French? (Metric French) With wrong way round throttle, but a big user, both Allied & Vichy!

or 3)The Finns? (Metric Finnish) Would Oleg bring it closer to home for the Laplanders - they had some skilled Hawk aces against the Sovs.

However the cockpit ended up it would still no doubt not be good enough for some people here...! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

OK, enough of the negativity, a resounding "YES PLEASE!!!" to french cockpits! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

I feel really sorry for French fans of the Il-2 series. It must be torture to have those Normandy and Ardennes maps, yet there is no significant French aircraft available for them to fly. They are surely the most neglected group amongst us. And yet they scarcely complain at all.

It would be great to have the H.75 for early US and France scenerios.

Also, Finnish version defense of Finland.

French Hawks throttles were opposite travel from US/British though.

Some of the H75's in RAF service retained the French type throttle as the aircraft orders were taken over by the RAF after the fall of France while the aircraft were still in transit from Curtiss. Many ended up in Burma. I believe the RAF called it the Mohawk.

The H75/P36 would be an interesting type to have, as it was a very maneuverable aircraft (it could out turn the P40 or Spit MkI below 15,000 ft.) and has a very respectable dive capability.

And it just looks so good.

http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif Well they do and they scream after a flyable french fighter, you just don't look at the right forum... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif There was a H75 in the works but I am not sure we will get it http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/cry.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/cry.gif. We haven't heard anything about it for a long time. Our best hope indeed is to see them in the Battle of France addon for BoB (let's cross fingers.. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif). From the preleminary work they did a year ago (as a training I guess since they didn't had any specification for BoB), they seem to be pretty serious people. Just look at the MS406 and MB151 models they did! (to bad they didn't include it in Il2...) If you can still find the pictures...

NB: the Ardennes map is about the Belgian Ardennes, not the french one..(to be geographically correct) http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif
