So I pre-ordered/purchased AC:O Gold Edition through a third party retailer b/c of a discount I received. The game and all the extras are downloaded, but it's not letting me play, despite me having early access. Is there something I'm missing? The only reason I got the gold edition was so that I can play 3 days early (even took off of work). Now it seems I've wasted my money and should have gotten the standard edition. What say you Ubisoft?

What platform are you on? If Steam, try clearing Steam download cache.

I play on Xbox one; it seems to crash on the epilepsy screen. This seems to be a common trend on PC.

This depends on the retailer. I can only assure you that if you purchase the game from an approved retailer (https://support.ubi.com/en-us/Faqs/000022581/Approved-Retail-Vendor-List) then you should be able to play early access as of October 2. If you are crashing then the issue could be resolved by clearing your Xbox cache by unplugging your Xbox from the power for two minutes.
