The physics on PC are locked to 30 fps. This is a mistake that was made on AC Syndicate aswell that you later fixed in a patch. It is really distracting and awful looking when everything else in the game world is at 60+ fps but all the physics are stuck on 30.

I have done some troubleshooting and found a way to temporarely fix the problem, hopefully this will help your team to fix this massive problem faster. Okay so I found an old steam guide for Syndicate (https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1099739741) and followed the steps putting this line "FlexibleMotionSimulationFPS=1" under "options" in the ini file. After I started the game the physics was still locked at 30 fps however as soon as I jumped into the water and then got out the physics was fixed and running at a much higher framerate. But if you go into a conversation with an NPC the physics locks itself to 30 fps again as soon as you regain control of your character. Jump into the water again and it is fixed until the next conversation.

I hope someone sees this and relays it to the dev team, and I hope my troubleshooting helps you fix the problem faster.

Same issue here, and I have contact friends that have the same problem about cloth physics with AC Odyssey.

PC specs:
- i7 8700k
- GTX 1080ti
- 16 Gb ram 3200mhz cl 14
- Game installed on ssd Samsung evo 860 1 tb
- Windows 10 64 bits.

And friends with diferents rigs have the same issue, doesn't matter the specs....

Please fix this glitch, its very frustrating. And its the second time this happens, First time was AC syndicate with exact same problem

The same thing happened with AC Syndicate guys. I'm pretty sure it's intentional

As you say, I don't think this issue is a coincidence, but I hope they fix this glitch soon, like they fix in the past AC syndicate.

I unlock the physics with the same method as AC syndicate, but I will not play much longer if I have to run unto water every time I start a conversation with someone

The issue randomly occurs, can be triggered by "free roam gameplay -> npc talk -> trigger swim animation -> issue resolved temporarily. Same thing with inventory screen.

Specs are: 1600X @ vanilla, 16GB DDR4 2966Mhz dual channel, GTX 1080 @ +90Mhz core clock/+550 Mhz memory (tried without oc and without afterburner for comparison).

Thx guys, this engine clearly has some under the hood improvements in comparison to origins. Especially the working vsync is leagues better.

Please ask them to look into reasing the framerate of cutscenes too its so jarring going from 60+ fps down to 30

Cutscenes are locked to 30 fps because they are prerendered videos, they are not made in real time. Unfortunately.

Yeah it looks disgusting in 30FPS, completely killing all Immersion.

I got a high end PC myself, and I can see the framerate difference between torch fires, flying birds, lightning and rain.... Aaand pretty much everything else.

Those things are definitely running on a lower framerate.

Noticing this too with all the above items (rain less so) Cloth on player seems to fix temporarily after swimming in water.
