Well, it finally happened. I lost one of my guys. Could have prevented it too. He was my flak gunner (pictured), and on my type VII-B, he was the only one. And I was just starting to worry about the increased air traffic I was experiencing.

I knew I should start adopting the dive reaction, but he had already taken down a half-dozen or so planes to date, so I figured he had it taken care of. But those coordinated attacks are difficult. He was firing at one after it made its pass, when another one came by unmolested and dropped one right off the starboard side. He survived, but by the time we got back to Brest. . .just couldn't help the guy.

So until I get more flak guns, I'm diving under at first sight of a plane. I gotta look out for my crew.

The worst part, I don't even remember his name. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

Then a follow up question .

In defense of my masculinity, the picture was taken on my first encounter with aircraft. I just put it out there because it's actually the guy that got it.

The nurses at the docks with the roses are more my type, if you know what I mean.
