I have'nt done anything other than QMB joyrides with it. However, I now need and want to learn this bird inside and out.So I'm asking all you devotees to provide some input and share your expertise.

What to do, what not to do, strengths, weaknesses, idiosyncracies, tactics, MAXIMIZING CEM CONTROLS, etc..
Also any convenient links to Jug specs (v speeds etc.) applicable to FB's Jug or sites with info dedicated to flying the P-47 in FB.

Anything specific to the 47 you think will speed up the learning curve.

Edit: also which type you fly most.

PM or Post

Grazi!

Hold down both triggers and let the 8 .50s tear the other guy a new...fuel port.

You should ask your father, the internet is no place for learning about sex

one thign i've found pretty effective is to have one set of 50s set at 100m and the otehr at 200m

Nah , the best convergence is 400-500 for furballs and 300-400 when attacking bombers , you need to concentrate the shoot when chasing that Pe-8.

try to surprise them, attack using speed and maximum firepower.

I'm a crappy pilot, but one hell of a shot.

Attack from higher altitude, and stay vertical, that way you can vertical turn roll into opponent when needed and keep E up. If not at an advantage stay outside the fight until you are.

I use 100 % prop when level or climb, but if in steep dive I go down to 85% until sound stabilizes then back to 90-95%. Let the sound be the cue. If sounding overreved, lower prop setting a little.

Stay out of horizontal maneuvers, unless you are sure to kill and no other bad guy around. I still have problems with nose wandering when I fire though so sure kills are hard to come by.

Well first thing you gotta remember is the T-bird is a Heavy Plane, therefore E management is a MUST! I try to always keep her at 330kmph and above so that she stays somewhat manuverable. Next thing is to keep her high. I personally feel if you are below 2000km its almost certain death. She just dont move down there with the small frys very well. I prefer to start any engagement at 4000km or higher. Any manuver that i do, i try to do in a decending manner. Not a steep dive or anything, but always in some form of E gaining situation. That way i can transfer the E i have gained back into height if at all possible. Another thing that i have found too is rudder use is definatly needed. You gotta kick that rudder around to get her moving like she should. But this does come with a price sometimes. If you dont manage your rudder properly, you will certainly end up in a stall spin. Finally, u got 8 50cals my man, open them up and unload some rounds into your tango. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

One last final thought. 1 T-bird puts up a good fight. But if that one has a wingy, the T-bird can dominate if flown poperly.

Oh and your other question. I usually fly the 22 model. Its a lil bit faster and roles better. I would sacrifice FOV for performance anyday.

Hope this helps some

BnZ only. TnB will get you killed for sure! Get up to about 4000-5000m and dive down on your opponents. High deflection angles are the best shot, more of your rounds hit then. I recommend that you do a test in QMB with icons on to find out what range you're opening up at, and reset convergence to that range or a similar range. Then turn icons off and see how it works - this really helped me a lot!

You also have to lead a lot with the 50 cals, so remember that; in flight, the P-47 will also try to veer to the left when you fire. Be ready to kick in rudder when that happens.

Good luck!

Yes U can.

when you press the machine gun trigger, only four guns fire. When you press the cannon trigger, the other four fire.

Go figure the convergence /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Anyway, I've set them all eight to 150m.

Nice for snapping wings or breaking hulls /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif
