Hello, ive sen some cool movies on this board and they have inspired me to do my own, but i am using fraps(older, free version) and when i try to capture film the 'track' runs at low FPS, its very jumpy and ennoying, and then when i go to watch the captured film, it is in fast motion, does anybody know why this happens? Thx for any help.

When you play a track back, run it at 1/2 or 1/4 speed while you're capturing the video with FRAPS. Then when you go to edit it you have more frames to work with. You can always speed it up later.

Thx for the help, but now i have another problem i forgot to mention, when i play a recorded film, it seems to be positioned to the right. E.G. If i have the plane centered in the track and record, its fine, but when i go to watch it, most of the right wing will be off the screen. Can you help me with that? Thx if you can.

BerraDFA, a limitation of the older FRAPS version, is that it can only capture a 640 x 480 window.

You'll have to set IL-2 to run in that resolution, before capturing your video.

*raises hand*

Yup, FRAPS 2.0 is pretty cool. It can capture large resolutions, and sound, as well. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

Using the 1/2 speed at 15fps works great, and eliminates 99% of the stuttering.

Hi

Remember to set fraps to 640x480 in 16 bit color mode (using Directx) or 32 bit color mode (using OpenGl).

The avi file recorded are huge so be sure to have enough HD space for it, after you'll have to compress the video using virtual duv to encode it or even to edit the whole movie as Davinci suugest on his thread.

Good flight to you !

"Oops...Looks that the Heating System and WEP controls are mixed !! ": Last radio message heard from polkovnik Lavotchkin. Any coincidence between this event and recent patches applied by russian mechanics to some planes are merely speculative.
