Can we choose not to use it ?
Or do they force us to use it like shields in Origins..

Pretty sure you're forced to use it if you plan on actually doing stuff in combat because all your abilities stem from the spear's power.
You can not carry it if you carry a two-handed weapon (heavy blunt weapon for example) but it will still be used when you choose to do an ability

It's Leónidas, not Leonidos. But yes, you're somewhat forced to use it since it's the primary weapon.

if you equip normal sword you will have to use it as an offhand weapon, other than that its it optional for you to choose to not using abilities come from the spear. but I think you gonna have to use it anyway because its not much think you can do without it.

Plus it's functioning as the hidden blade this time around, so...

I wonder how Leonidas got the spear? i mean didn't the Persians have also a relict located near thier city of Persepolis? Hopefully they can explain that in the game.

it looks like it does
but you usualy dont use the hidden blade in a fight as dual blades it seems you use the spear in all fights..... atleast what i have seen

ď just dont like when i cant choose in rpg

It's there to perform special abilities and assassinations, think of it like a magic wand in an RPG :)
When you fight you'll still use your chosen equipped main weapon.
