I thought I had read somewhere that someone had assigned the enable/disable key for their TrackIRPro3 to a joystick button. My version of TIR does not recognize joystick buttons...how can you do this?

First: Your joystick should emulate the key you use for the function you want. So, F8, F10 and/or F12.
If it does not work it could have to do with the USB order. USB ports are numbered. So, maybe it works if you switch the stick's and TIR's USB port.

If it does not work it's probably a joystick driver issue.

Got it working with the X-45

In layman terms.
Your joystick has to have a profiler. With one you can asign any button to act as any key on the keyboard.
Now learing your pofiler software can be tricky. The X-45's has stumped a kany of fellow so far. But i managed to do it. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/53.gif

TOAD......I printout a list of my commands set up on my X45 profile. It's placed right next to me on my cockpit so i can refer to it easily. See pic.

Just go get "Joy to Key". It lets you program keyboard strokes to your stick buttons. It works well and is easy to use, you just have to remember to start the program before you fly. I don't remember where I got it, but a Google search will probably find it.
