Hello!
I have this question:
My motherboard has 2 USB slots and one is used for the X45 and the other for the rudder pedals.
I'm thinking of buying a CH stick and combine it with the X45 throttle.

The problem is that I only have 2 USB slots and the CH stick needs one more.
Is there some kind of an extension to use and multiply the USB ports?

Thanks

Hi Zen fighter,
a few months ago i purchased ch pedals , throttle and stick , they were all USB .I also had only 2 USB ports, i looked at USB PCI card $ 50 NZD ($20 -25 USD) and the same for a USB hub, i found the cheapest way to upgrade was to get a USB header , this fits in a PCI slot and plugs into the motherboard it was only $ 5 NZD($2 USD ) and was very easy to install. Check with your local computer store on the availabilty of this item and if it can be installed on your M/B.
I hope thats of some use

This presupposes that you have unused USB Headers on your Mobo. Not all do. Good point to mention though /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif .

Best bet, that will *allways* work is buy a POWERED hub. Make sure it is powered as there is a finite amount of power available through USB.

yeah you can normally buy a USB card that fits into one of your PCI slots. you can get them at a Best Buy or any computer store.

Poered USB hubs are great. Make sure you get one that is stackable as most everything these days is USB and you still may not have enough.

Here's a list of all the USB devices I currently have plugged in:

USB hub with: Joystick, throttle, compactflash card reader, Sony DVD burner (moving it to firewire though), Printer (most new printers are USB), TrackIR.

When I get my pedals I'll need another one...
