Welcome back, Riders!

It’s been a very exciting week for the Trials team. Amid all the excitement we wanted to take a moment to highlight a few ways that the Trials Garage has been helpful in shaping Trials Rising. We started the Trials Garage in spring of 2017 as a way for us to examine the history of Trials in order to help identify what we’ve done well and where we have room to improve in the eyes of our community. We also wanted to provide insights into some of the challenges that the team faces when developing a Trials game. These discussions produced great feedback, some of which helped guide decisions made by our teams so big thanks to everyone who took part.

Tire Glitch

This was a topic that was discussed during the 7th update of the Garage when we looked at “Areas of Improvement”. Long before that, even before we started production on a new Trials game we knew this was something we wanted to address. A fix for the tire glitch is one of the first things we worked on way back in the fall of 2016. When we brought our first Elite players on board we had already worked on some fixes so bike physics and the tire glitch was the first thing we asked them to look at when they started getting development builds.

During the “Areas of Improvement” Trials Radio podcast with guests Nova Dark Storm and Julius Fondem, we discussed different types of tire glitches. In that discussion, we identified 3 different things that players refer to as a tire glitch. It should be noted that when we talk about tire glitches we are referring to the worst of these three scenarios, when the tire will just get stuck for no visible reason and stop the bike completely. This is what we set out to fix and we are confident that we have. So far in testing we have not encountered this type of glitch. Scalable Objects

It was hinted at in our first Trials Garage article when we discussed UGC, but we are now happy to confirm…objects will be scalable in Trials Rising’s track editor!!

The editor will allow builders to scale objects bigger or smaller, and textures and collisions model will scale with the object. While it’s possible to go very big in the scales, for optimal results it is recommended to not scale objects on or near the driveline above 150%.

We are very excited to provide this much-requested feature and we cannot wait to see how the creative geniuses in our building community utilize it!

Editor Objects Wishlist

During our Trials Garage UGC survey, we asked builders to share with us their most desired objects for the editor. From the 111 responses that we received during this, we compiled a list of 46 objects that were requested by the community – and more than half of those objects will be in the game!

We will have a lot more to share on the editor as we get closer to launch and we’ll be able to go into more details about the requested objects at a later date. For now here is a little sneak preview of a few of the most requested objects that will be in the Trials Rising editor:

-People and Crowds
-Animals
-City Objects
-Vistas
-Legacy objects from Trials HD, Evo, Fusion and Blood Dragon.

There will be over 8,000 objects, effects & tools to choose from when creating tracks in Trials Rising. By far the most editor objects a Trials game has ever seen!

The team is still very hard at work finalizing the game for release in early 2019, and trust there are more new and improved features to share! Over the months leading up to launch, we will be revealing more about the game – as we do, we will continue to look back on the Garage program and how the insights gained have had an impact.

Again, thank you everyone who took part in the program, filled out our surveys and left feedback in the threads. There is still lots in store that we can’t wait for you to see! Until then, we’ll see you on the leaderboards.

I like the game so far.. took me a while to figure out the controls... lol.. only thing you guys really need to work on is the colors of your bikers... come on now... im not orange or any other color from the rainbow... i should be able to create a character with my skin color... my skin is brown ... not the color black... smmh.. other then that game is fun.. we need unlockables also like bikes, gear,clothes,etc... give us some rpg elements... i dont wanna feel like im playing just to be playing...that would make the game boring..we want replayability.. !!!! Also the shadowing of other players throws you off... if its a time to beat i dont need a shadow running the course with me....I hope you guys are planning on releasing this game on physical form...i will most definitely pre order... p.s please fix the color shades ..

It would be nice if there will be more bikes to choose from than the previous trials games.
For example trials frontier have a lot more you can choose.
I hope this will be the same for trials rising.
But still great what i have seen and hear so far. 😎🚲🛴✌

The problem with adding new bikes - assuming you mean that they have different characteristics - is loads of additional testing for each track to make sure players don't wind up trying to take on a track with a bike that Just. Can't. Make it.

There are a handful of chassis with most of the bikes though and that's plenty for me, though it would be nice if they were a bit more distinct.
