Ah yes Jaques Cousteau...he loved to go out on the ocean.....with the boys http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/winky.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Why didnt they put it in an museum ?

I mean the calypso is very widely known. She would surely be an attraction for an oceanographic institute. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif

http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif Just kidding, but if you ever want to see a great satire of the whole 'Cousteau' scene see "The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou"

Hilarious...watch out for the Giant Jaguar Shark!

I don't know about it being sad. After all the man spent much of his life diving in and around reefs I would think he would of thought it nice for his former war ship to become a home to so many of the little critters he loved so much.

Heheh.. thanks Silent O.. never seen that movie but should.

The reason the Calypso is rotting away in La Rocehell is due to a legal battle being fought by Francine (Jaques 2nd wife 40 years his Junior.. lol the dog) and his son from his 1st wife. Francine and the American branch of the Cousteau Society (along with Carnival Cruise Line) want it moved to the Bahama's, While Jean-Michelle Cousteau and the European branch of the Cousteau society wants it moved to the Med.

I personally side with Jean..

However being sunk as a reef may be a better fit ..
