View Full Version : Feedback: Font Readability, text size (colour, blending)

One thing that irks me (and from what I've read, others too) about this generation is a lot of game developers insisting on using tiny font, or font that blends in to background because of the text colour, lack of drop shadow etc.

Not everyone sits 50 cm's away from their TV - we sit up to 2 to 4 metres from our TV sets, TV's are of varying sizes, some use 4K some don't.

Considering AC Odyssey uses the same engine as AC Origins perhaps you could change the way the text is displayed for

Quests that are displayed i.e

Notice how the red blends into the background - sitting at the PC it's perfectly readable, but sitting on a couch 2 meters away is a different experience.
Also white text on bright background makes for hard reading also prevalent Assassin's Creed Odyssey

Item/gear descriptors: the text could be a little bigger.

I believe this issue has been brought up on various Ubisoft forums (for other games) and on the wider internet.

But I hope you are able to implement a text slider or something in Assassin's Creed: Odyssey, and address the readability issue I mentioned above.

Thanks :)

I agree with this! Seconded!

Talking of feedback, I noticed a small inaccuracy in the world map. Samos is not the birthplace of Herodotus (even though he lived there for a while). It's the birthplace of Pythagoras.

(I didn't want to make a new thread about this, but not sure how to pass the feedback to the team).

Good thoughts, bitebug.

Somewhat related- anybody have any idea how we used to play video games over component cables on CRT televisions? Trying to do that again sounds like a nightmare.

I have pretty bad astigmatism and alot of times to read these micro fonts on my flatscreen (which is pretty big), I have to get up & walk up to it to read it then go sit back down.
It's even harder when colors are conflicting w/ background.
So I agree with this 100% - hope devs consider this for us =)
