Guys,

For anyone in Europe who was able to get the sim today, can you please post a pic of the Ki-46 and all her variants? The Kai, Otsu and Otsu-Hei? I'm curious to see how they end up looking in the final version.

Thanks,
BV

Nice, I won't argue with ANY screenshot, but he asked for the Ki-46 Dinah, not the Ki-61 Tony <G>.

Yep, there folks is your first unofficial Bug posted here on the forum. The Alpha channel has gone MIA. Folks, that is NOT how the Ki-46 is suppossed to look! It's missing her windows. Also, the skin on the Otsu is the wrong one! It's uppossed to be a brown one like in the earlier France Simulation videos. I finally get my work in a sim and it's porked ;-( I also sent Luthier some updated skins to be included in the release version, but it looks like they didn't have time. Hopefully, they will be included. If any Euro simmer wants a copy of the improved skins let me know and I'll try to send them to you. The only reason I am posting this stuff here is because Luthier is not returning my emails. I had to do a legal end around since I don't dare get a leaked copy.

Mmmm, the first one... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif

Finally an aircraft in the sim with worst front view than 190s! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Ugh, Burnin! Great work, but... it seems it needs some adjustments in the game. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

I noticed theres an error on the ki43 skins too.

they must have changed the uvmapping of the wingroots and on the brown skin it shows one side having half the anti glare black paint on one side.

I think it kinda looks cool that way. It feels more sleek somehow.

That's the Jedi Trainer Dinah

Lateralus-

Mitsubishi Ki-46, high altitude reconnaisance aircraft. Most were unarmed, but some carried a single light MG in the rear cockpit. When it first came out it was an untouchable plane, you simply couldn't catch it.

If the alpha mapped is fubard on the Ki-46, I wonder if the same is true for my Ki-43. Can anyone post a pic of the Ki-43 engine? There is supposed to be a copper ring oil cooler in there that I used alpha maps on.

So, why do the last two pics both show at least two machine guns in the nose?

How big was this thing? Could it tangle with fighters using its speed? Or was it more of a run-for-your-life plane?

It was more or less the size of a P-38. And yes, it could tangle with fighters better than, say, a Bf 110, but it was lightly armed, so... it was better to hit & run. See it like a Japanese Mosquito.

And, Chuck, they should leave Jedi trainers apart until Millenium Falcon pit -B-29- is in the game... http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

They were feild conversions if I recall. not particularly succesful, but they were tried out as fighter interceptors and i think some had obliquely mounted upward firing cannon, presumably for bombers. Very small number of conversions.

The factory models were almost all unarmed. I should have been more clear. There was a pure fighter model planned by Mitsu if i remember right, but the war ended before it got off the drawing board.

It's sexier to show the plane with guns, I'm sure

Personally I think it's one of the best looking airplanes of WWII.

My first plastic model done, ever... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

I've always thought it's one of the most elegant planes of the war. With no guns, eh! And with the windows! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif
