Having an issue with sliding canopies since 4.09m. They open and close "on the button", but won't lock. If I climb they fly open or slam shut in a dive.

Can someone fix the catch?

This should be interesting, I've never heard of anything like this...

It might be a Mod issue Don, if you are running a mod-pack then ask at the site where you got your mods from.

I had a sliding canopy bug on the Fw-190 the other day (A-8 I think) The canopy wouldn't close after take-off. I assumed that it had jammed as I was going to quick... Is this even modelled?

Lol, sorry to hear about your joystick problem, but that's funny as hell! To think that it would fail in just such a way as to look just like some sort of ingame issue, lol.

That IS interesting. Going from an in-game issue to hardware malfunction.

And here I thought you were just being a cheeseball.

Hang on a minute, I just want to see if I have this correct...

You have open/close canopy assigned to a joystick button...

O_o

Must be some strange new tactic where pull alongside your opponent, open the canopy and fart in his general direction or something.

There are so many buttons on my X-52 that they can't all be used for the most useful things. Opening the canopy is one of them.

Cool, I bet you have some interesting moments with unintentional twitches setting off all kinds of mechanisms at inappropriate times. XD

Maybe he's flying a Spit. Out of ammo you open the canopy so you can throw the crowbar at a bandit. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/53.gif

I knew that crowbar would come in handy for something!

Does anyone remember Interstate '76? Would be nice to open the canopy and as you pull up next to a bandit, look out the side window and shoot the pilot with your handgun that is always tucked away in that satchel next to the seat.

The pouch in the Spit, by the crowbar, is oviously for pipe and baccy. You tucked your pistol into your flying boots.

What I always love to do http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif is lower my gear, and latch it onto the enemies wing. Then I promptly climb out to the enemy's cockpit and hit him with the crowbar. It takes skill and precision, but the look on the guys face is amazing! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/59.gif Ok, I'll turn off my imagination. (I think I'm pulling an Owl...) http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif

Nah, Owl would use a 30mm chain gun. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Actually, I believe that WWI vickers ammo containers (circular, and dinner plate size) were usually tossed over the side when empty. If you were being persued, there would be no harm in heaving one out in the enemy's general direction. At wwII combat speeds, the buffeting you get, and the extra drag, would mean opening the canopy would be pretty daft in most circumstances.

Hahaha I wiped the floor laughing...

Reminds me of Looney Tunes cartoons http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif .
