View Full Version : [Season 6] New Character Speculation

Edit: Sorry I messed up on the title, I meant beyond season 6.

Now that it's confirmed we'll be getting some new heroes later this year, what do you think we'll see? Chances are the new characters are already being worked on, so suggestions won't do much good at this point, but it's always fun to guess.

Personally I think we'll be seeing more heavy/vanguard characters, since so far all we've gotten are hybrids and assassins. I'm hoping they stick with the original cultures for each faction, rather than diverging entirely like what happened with the Romans, but I'm not holding my breath on that one.

For the Knights I could see them either adding a paladin-style character with a hammer/mace, or maybe a spearman of some sort. I've seen some people suggest a rapier-wielding nobleman, which would be cool, but that would definitely be another hybrid/assassin character.

With the Vikings I'm honesty at a loss, maybe some kind of bruiser that fights with his bare hands? I dunno, it'll be interesting to see what they came up with.

As for the Samurai, I've seen lots of talk around the forums about a monk with a staff, and while I personally love the idea I'm skeptical as to whether Ubisoft would include a hero with such a comparatively non-lethal weapon. My money's on another cultural split, a Mongol with a saber and shield for example.

Anyway, those are just my shots in the dark. What do you think the next set of heroes will/should be?

wait did they announce new heroes? I thought it was just a rework?

For this season it's only rework and balance.

And i am not sure they've talked about new heroes in the futur.. but they announce others rework and balances ;)

Fingers cross for the VALK ....

I was hoping they reworked valk in S6, I rep 10 with her and stopped playing her a year ago, she needs it more that anyone else atm I think.

To fill the gaps, I reckon:

Samurai - Some kind of monk. Hybrid with a quarterstaff or something. Extreme range and a host of melee moves making him a good person to have in your 4v4 squad.

Knights - Gotta be a hammer wielding heavy. Knights are all about heavy armour and trauma weapons so this would fit nicely. I'd love to see a viking wielding a battle hammer but it makes more sense for knights. Maybe a Paladin as you said.

Vikings - I'm stuck here too. Picking some titles at random - Huskarl - A veteran viking. Shieldmaiden - B*tch with a shield, too similar to Valkyrie really. Marauder - like a raider on crack. We've got all the melee weapons typically used by Vikings already. Broad blades, spears, long and short axes. Can't really see how they'll make the viking that different if there is one, unless they go for something pretty much unrelated again like Shaman or Highlander.

I can chip in with some Viking ideas.

Varangian (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Varangian_Guard) - Shield and axe vanguard (duh) hero

Glima (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glima) - Brawler/wrestler like suggested, heavy hero with brass knuckles.

Sletti - Double seax wielding assassin.

I predict there will be an Ikkō-ikki or Sōhei monk for the Samurai, a 17th Century pirate for the Vikings and a gellatin based lifeform from the planet Klaatu 6 for the Knights :D

bruce lee and his nunchucks ;)

Knight wise we might see a vanguard with a 2 handed mace or a heavy that's a mace and a shield. Though personally I want a hybrid that uses a glaive.

Viking wise i'm not entirely sure. Not super familiar with their weaponry and culture.

There is a pretty huge arsenal to choose from for the samurai. nunchucks, sai, dirks (though that's not the exact term) etc. I'd personally like to see a stave/staff hero though.

I think a staff wielding Monk for the Samurais

A 2H Hammer wielding Viking

And either a 2h Paladin Like you said or a rapier wielding one.

Honestly what I wish the most is for the classes to be balanced now (Looking at you Raider and others trash tiers). And gender swapped versions for ALL the classes

An out there theory we find out what is with all the statues no faction built in campaign mode and the people behind that was the reason Apollyon set everyone to war. (I am not too keen on the fourth faction idea but the devs left themselves a lot of room to work with with that, when something odd is mentioned once, generally it can pass by, two or three times? Not so much)

More seriously I would like to see someone with a hammer.

Some time this year. More than likely not this season, I suspect we'd have been shown at least a trailer on the stream, but they do have E3 next month, that could be part of it.

How about a brawler character?

Drunken, Scottish
Heavy/Vanguard(or heavy/vanguard hybrid)
He would use his fists but rather than bare fists or brass knuckles, he would use punch daggers (if you've played vermintide it's what the gutter runners use) so therefore you could keep immersion for things like when he hits lawbringer but still use 'fists'. He would be a mix or zerker, raider and highlander in appearance.

I think a new nation will arrive :p

A 4th faction would be pretty cool and would be quite the shake up in terms of the lore as well as a huge reveal for E3. Don't know how likely it is to happen but it would be exciting if they did it.

Shredder, Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello, Michelangelo and Splinter would be good. Just put them in their own faction.

A hammer wielding knight would be appreciated, but more than anything a proper sword and shield knight.

It's like the most basic archetype of every old school fantasy game in existence. I'm not even sure how this got overlooked in vanilla.
