I love playing this game and the graphics are incredible. My two problem is that I am horrible at blocking and also combo inputs. Do any of you have tips to help? Thanks.

If you play on console, going into advanced settings and turning down your deadzones might help, i usually keep mine on zero.

Thanks for the info bro. Does that make the blocking more responsive?

Yes. Also try to start with a non-assasin champion. Assassins tend to have decaying block. And train hard

I have been playing the campaign and it's pretty tough even on easy. My blocking definitely needs work

It is hard to block simple attacks from sides and top? Or feinted ones.
I got some good reflexes during story mode on realistic difficulty.

simple ones as I somehow miss ques to block, or are there any queues

So, best way to learn is to play custom duel with someone. Ask him to hit from let's say left, while you hold guard on right. And try to react. Again and again until this goes automaticly.
I remembred days when I can't win a single round of duel with bots. It was on beta.

EDIT: you don't have color blind issues, do you? If you do, there are settings for that in the options menu.

Sounds like a good idea. Thanks for the advice

You can also adjust the areas that are read for top, left and right as well, for example, I reduced the top guard change input to 50, I think and increased left and right significantly, then went a step further and rotated the entire widget clockwise a few degrees, because I found that I was never actually moving my stick toward "true north" in relation to the axis of the controller. This helped so much, that when I play on my friend's console I can no longer block or even combo as effectively.

Awesome tips everyone! Digging into the controller settings can definitely help a ton in terms of increasing responsiveness and being able to reliably combo. This week we'll be looking to release the training arena and the apprentice trials, so even if you can't find a friend, you should be able to practice your blocking via the trials or by setting up a practice session in the training arena.
