View Full Version : Nick Rye Mission Bug

03-31-2018, 06:09 AM
Was doing the mission to unlock Nick Rye as a specialist. On the part where you have to kill the enemy plane we collided in the air, killing both of us. Upon respawn, the mission was completed, marked as complete in the journal, and Nick was unlocked as an available specialist. However, his icon did not disappear from the map and the missions completed for John's region is stuck at 51/52. Is there any fix for this or will it have to be (hopefully, hint hint) fixed in a patch?

Great game by the way, you guys rock!

Hello GunnerGully,

Thank you for reporting this to us.

We are aware of this issue occurring, and it's something that is being looked into.

In regards to the completed percentage, there are a few hidden objectives in the region that may be the reason for this. Have you been to the big 'Yes' sign on the mountain? Also have you collected all the Lighters?

Thank you

Thanks for your response. I've done all of the collect missions but hadn't been to the YES sign. I just went and searched around, nothing happened though.

Is there a way to get rid of the icon in game, and mark the region as 52/52. Because I can't stand the fact that it's not 52/52.
If you could help me with this, I would more then enjoy it.
But if you don't. Then I gotta replay the whole damn game.

I thought being at 51/52 was related to the icon, but it isn't. There's something else you haven't done yet.

Can you confirm if you've destroyed the YES billboard which is a hidden mission?

Ofcourse I did. I looked all over the internet. And it's getting spammed on every thread.

I'm at 50/52, and I also have the Nick Rye mission bug. All of his missions are done but the icon is still there. Do the lighter and comic book missions count toward the total 52? I'm also unable to complete "Hit the Gas" because I have defeated John seed and the cultists have been eliminated from Holland Valley. I also have not gotten any word on "The Revelator." Information would be nice; thank you ;)

***Also, if you are at 51/52 and don't know what you're missing, try completing O'Hara's Haunted House Prepper Stash. It is located on the edge of Henbane River (Faith's region) but it counts towards Holland Valley. Took me forever to figure this one out xD good luck.

Hey Fishiygobyby, the both of those issues have been reported. Apologies for any inconvenience.

Has anyone had the issue with Nick not appearing when you get to his house? I've tried reloading the last check point and I restarted the game but nothing worked. The distress call is still on the map and when I go to his house there are plenty of enemies, but no Nick. Any suggestions?

Hey flyingpope345, do you have a mission active? If so can you quit it ?

Hello Ubisoft,
I have just began a new play through of Far Cry 5. Upon completion of Nick Ryes quest series, the icon above Rye Aviation did not go away as it usually does. Despite the icon, Nick is still available as a specialist. If it would be any trouble to you guys, is there any way that this can be resolved? This also happened in my Co-op playthrough with my friend with Grace Armstrong. Keep up the great work, as Im enjoying the game so far.
Kind regards,

It is sad but the bug still exists four months after reporting. Is it that difficult to add some code like: "Nick/Grace is unlocked = true" than "hide icon"? I finished 52/52 quests in Johns region (incl. destroying yes + 2 collecting missions). So the only bug is that the icon doesn't disappear. I played Grace's mission a few days ago. John marked me after finishing the quest. I got XP and unlocked Grace. After that they caught me. So I think this is the reason for the bug.

I think the game is to good to let such beauty spots in it. So I hope they will fix it. The only thing that is missing in the game are attacks by the sect on the outposts to have a real feeling of a civil war. I want to build up the outposts that they can defend themselves or have to help them to fight against a big attack with some allies. The sect just looks apathic on how they lose property. But there I have some hopes in the zombie mode that bliss starts to evolve and we will see a Walking Dead world in which the prison has to be improved and defended against hordes.

Yeah, I've got the same issue. I'm at my second playthrough and the icon didn't dissapear.
