The exact procedure involved with paying/downloading this? Everyones talking about BoontyBox, but I have no idea how you get it in the first place, what to install, where etc. Can someone give a concise, step by step intruction list on what to do? Cheers http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

(please also include any steps taken to minimise the intrusion of the BouncyBugs software, and when the download is complete, completely remove it from your machine)

Step 1
Go here: http://www.ubi.com/uk/

Step 2
Click on "Shopping" in top right

Step 3
Enter in your login details as per UBI forums.
PE-2 Add on should be the first "News" item. If not do a search for it.

Step 4
Click on "Add To Basket" under the item, you should then see that the PE-2 add on has been added to your basket in the top right of screen.

Step 5
In the "My Basket" area click on "Validate"

Step 6
A new screen comes up, check to make sure your order is in...order...LOL Then click "Proceed to check out"

Step 7
You'll then be asked to provide a mailing address if you don't already have one. Once you've entered in the details select the mailing address in the next screen and click on "Next"

Step 8
Accept the "General Terms and blah blah blah" by ticking the tick box and click on "Next"

Step 9
You'll now be sent to a screen which asks for your Credit Card details and will then confirm your payment. You may also be sent to a page from your bank to confirm your details and confirm the purchase (VISA)

Step 10
A new screen then appears confirming the payment and provides you with the link to download the PE-2 add on and provides you with your activation code, these details will also be sent to your email address. This is where you'll also be asked to download Boonty. Just download it and run it. You may need to give permision for Boonty to run on your firewall (if the firewall is any good).

Step 11
When Boonty runs it will start to scan your HD for other games, just cancel it if your uncomfortable with it, it doesn't effect the download. Once the scan has finished or cancelled the download will begin.

Step 12
Once the download is finished you'll be able to install the add on. At that point you'll need to enter in the activation code. Once the install is finished you will no longer need Boonty and can un-install it if you want to.

<span class="ev_code_RED">But remember if you un-install the PE-2 add on it actually removes the whole merged install and to install the add on again I THINK you need Boonty installed (I haven't tried this yet)</span>

TIP: Once everything has been done burn a copy of the PE-2 add on, the boonty program and a text doc of your payment details <span class="ev_code_yellow">**** WHICH SHOULD INCLUDE YOUR ACTIVATION CODE ****</span> to CD/DVD. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif

Hope that helps! (my fingers hurt now) http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

I also had a problem with the language selection.
I changed it to English US, didn't work,
back to English UK, worked fine.

My turn for a stoopid question, if I may.
Can this Tiger be installed on a PC without an internet connection?

Just tried it...answer = No

The add-on.exe file has a BB shell incorperated into it, so a clean RE-INSTALL of the patch requires a net connection to activate it.

JungleGeorge - it isn't so bad, really. Just go to ubi.com&gt;Shopping&gt; enter your details and then download it. This will first install BoontyBox. Once that is downloaded you can install PE-2 (pretty cool plane, BTW).
Once you have downloaded PE-2, STOP. Your game won't run as BB installs it in the wrong place usually, so don't bother clicking on the icon.
Instead, enter Program Files, look for BoontyBox and find PE-2.exe. Copy it somewhere else, eg Desktop. (and onto a disc!)

NOW, click on the PE2.exe and install as you would a normal patch.
To avoid any possible CTDs or stutters, open your main IL-2 folder and take out il2 and il2fb files(they have little plane icons and are about 1.36MB).
Insert the very same files from 4.04,click play, and everything is gravy.
If you have not got a copy of the 4.04 files, check the installation threads or just PM me and I can point you in the right direction.

It sounds hard but actually it isn't. I swapped out my files and it made all the difference. No more crashes for me(he said, just BEGGING FATE to correct him).
