Hi all,

I've been doing some tests and I discovered that the game models the drag imposed by markings. On the whole MAT Manager markings seem "aerodynamically" cleaner and increase the speed of aircraft marginally and therefore give one a distinct combat "edge", wow !!.

I think that it's got something to do with the edges of the markings blending better with the skin. Only had time for a few quick tests with the games' standard markings vs MAT Manager markings but I did observe a general speed increase when using the MAT Manager markings.

Additional....

Thanks to EuroSnoopy at Airwarfare.com who confirmed my findings but mentioned that the markings start to peel at high speeds I will incorporate a new option into the v2.30 GUI as shown below. As you know I'm making it an option as I like to offer as much choice to folks as possible.

Before I was a nine stone weakling, now I can kick sand in all the bullies faces when on the beach. (doesn't stop the beating I soon receive from them, tho') http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/1072.gif

LOL mate! I thought that April Fools was an USA tradition, not UK. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Hi chaps,

Thanks for brightening my day, oh no Luke amigo we in the UK have a fine tradition of April fools, got caught myself at work this morning. Couldn't resist the urge to post one. A while back amongst my frequent support e-mail queries I had a chap swear that MAT Manager had an impact on flight models because he'd just shot down three Yaks in flames that night !.

That planted the seed in my mind to mischeviously add a hidden control to the GUI which when you move mouse over it say's "MAT Manager weaking wing spars of oponent's aircraft" or something similar. So the April fools thing was too good an opportunity to miss. If I'd had more time to prepare I'd have done some screenshots showing sharp edged markings TGAs and those with anti-aliasing etc.

Cheers
