Ubisoft got the Ontario (Canada) Teachers' Pension Plan and Chinese game company Tencent to help buy back the shares Vivendi has been gobbling up.

For months now, the word on the street has been an impending takeover of Ubisoft by Vivendi, a French media conglomerate that once owned Activision-Blizzard until that company spent $5.83 billion to gain its independence in 2013.

Today Ubisoft announced that it would buy out Vivendi's 27.3% stake in the company (30,489,300 shares) a deal worth about $2.45 billion---or just about twice what Vivendi paid originally.
