Got it. Thx /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Can anyone tell me what improvements there are? or what benefits a TIR1 user can expect?

(sorry, haven't read the readme yet ;( )

It's horrible....uninstalled and back to last version 2. Tracking is horrible and has sways uncontrollably....lasted 30 mins on my system.

Thanks! Got it, installed it, love it! /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

I tried it online on a server with ~150 ping, and once I settled in and had all the pilots and regiments downloaded it was smooth as silk. So I guess it's safe to say that I noticed a difference, it's smoother, and faster. I can now do a quick check 7 to 5 in no time, and without the jerkyness that used to occur inbetween the two positions. Oh ya, I use an ol' fashioned TrackIR 1 (the way it behaves now makes me doubt that I'll ever need the TrackIR 2, thanks NaturalPoint!)

Hunter82:

Did you unplug your unit and uninstall all of v2.11 before installing v3.01? This is what I did:
1) Unplug TrackIR
2) Uninstall software
3) Install v3.01
4) Reboot
5) Plug TrackIR in
6) Start up software

Works better than v2.11 for me (can't wait to try it offline or on a low-ping server!).

Yep... also the tracking menu is corrupt for me. It shows in box and on desktop (2 locations) when you close TRack IR the tracking box stays resident on desktop... 2.1 works good for me so I'm staying. Both versions of 3 did this on my system so I gather it may be isolated but for me it's horrible.

Telling Hunter how to install something is kind of funny.

Something is goofy Hunter. I have one of the older TIRs and the 3.0.1 software installed just fine for me. I find the tracking much smoother and even easier to get setup than before. It seems MUCH more forgiving about ambient heat sources and I no longer need a cluster of four dots...

yes hunter, check your background for reflective objects. the new drivers work great for me. i just have 1 dot on the bridge of some glasses with no glass in them. the frames of the glasses had some shiny spots on them that gave me trouble until i took a black marker to them.

Checked them all guys /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif Trust me I'll never post soemthing is horrible unless I tried everything I can think of /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif I ran the entire process and tried multiple installs, about 15. Each still has the tracking box displayed on desktop if I select menu for tracking. I deleted all registry strings and dll's left. Reinstalled profile just in case it was corrupt. No background lighting or reflective issues...both tracking boxes look clean, the one that is supposed to be there and the desktop one /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif I should post a screenie just so you can see what I'm talking about.....it's rather odd to say the least /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Hunter;

I have same problem...occurred with both 3.0 and 3.01. Another user posted a link to a screen of it at the NP forums - NP responded that it is on the fix list, but so far they have not been able to reproduce it themselves. But at least we are not alone in this. I did discover that I can clear the 'twin' tracking window by right clicking on the desktop and selecting 'refresh', but it is annoying and makes one wonder what else might be happening.

Other than that, 3.01 has been working ok for me, although I don't notice that great a improvement over 2.11.

Sorry naturalpoint. This testimonial is enough for me. My TrackIR works like a charm...smooth and fast (heck, too fast for me at first!)

V2.11 it is. v2.11 it stays...at least for now.

I think that the main reason so many are going to go back to the 2.12 is that Linda Blair no longer flys the un-friendly skies

I've personally had very good luck with 3.0. I had a lot of stuttering, hesitations and hangups with 2.11, but now it's smoother thru the whole range. Used to have a problem with the track losing sight of the dot when would look aft over either wing, but it's steady and dependable now. Much better experience. Wish I could tell those of you that are having problems how to fix them, but I just don't know what I did right... sorry. Good luck with it!

One of the first things I check is if this is left in....it ain't gonna be fixed in FB so only NP can remove it.....I would love for it to be gone and stop hearing people cry like little girls.... /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Linda was never invited in my cocpit - haven't you guys seen her vomit??? Naaahhh no need for women beeing sick in my cramped litttle space - a man is best on his own... and btw: I use TrackIr to get that "realistic" sensation about flying.... Linda Blair does the opposite...(just an opinion)

Cheers

/B

PS: Latest software works great, thnx txmx!

Being able to turn a few more degrees takes away the sensation of flying?
