Yeah..I ran into a tanker convoy (literally) in the fog and it only had 3 escorts plus the carrier...sunk all the T-3's and left 2 T-2's and a single C-2 after I sunk 2 of the escorts that jumped me...The 3rd escort was a Hunt III and only took a couple of pot shots at me when I surfaced to pull torps from the external reserves so I could resume my mayhem but he never made any attempt to chase me down at any time....Guess their Captain decided descretion was the better part of valor on that trip....I got one more destroyer on the way back to Bergen..I only had three torps left after hitting the convoy and decided not to continue to my patrol grid....Ch

I guess you were off the American coast? I have found that there are transit convoys consisting purely of tankers... I would like to meet one some day.

Good work! In all of my many patrols I have yet to encounter a tanker convoy. My convoy encounters are usually lots of freighters with maybe a few tankers in the center.
