Hi All,
I am aware there was a thread started on this subject some time back but thought it might be worthwhile raising is it "a-new" because it is really bugging me!
Using external view, close-up manual setting with sky in the background I get bright blue flashes (like little electric arcs) over the wings etc.
Initial postings suggested that it only occurs above 1000feet. This is not so. The trigger is when there is a portion of blue sky in the background, and curiously the flashes are most frequent when the aircraft is viewed side on i.e. if the aircraft is viewed from below it is nowhere as frequent or severe. This makes me suspect that it is the combination of 'object lighting surface lighting effect' and the blue background thats triggering it and I can only wish I had the technical knowledge on rendering to advance the theory.
Anyway, I post this hoping that maybe someone has been able to get further on this one as fixing this would make this fantastic sim perfect!
