View Full Version : A Whale's Perspective (A Message to the Developers)

I want to begin by saying that I tend to become the proverbial dolphin or whale in any mobile game that I play. To give you an idea, I have spent roughly $3k on Galaxy of Heroes in this past year alone and am probably going to dump another $500 with my tax return. I enjoy mobile gaming and have no issue with supporting the developers in my own way; as it gives me a break from my family and my demanding career.

With that said, I think that Phone Destroyer will be my first game where I will not be a dolphin or whale. Since it launched on the Android store, I have spent a total of $50. The reason for this, and this will certainly sound like a broken record, the energy hackers in pvp. Yes I know, this has been discussed, dissected, and regurgitated at nauseum, but I wanted the developers to understand that it isn't just the F2P players that they are irritating and alienating. There is a player base out there that legitimately wants to invest into this game but cannot and will not due to the rampant cheating.

Just this morning I had a series of five matches in a row where the opposing players knew they were going to lose soundly; so they decided to empty their entire inventory. It even culminated with the last of the five opponents throwing a MBP, Rogue Token, Program Stan, another Rogue Token and a Cyborg Kenny at the same time. There is absolutely no way someone can compete with this, even someone that invests hundreds of dollars into the game.

Below are two screenshots from this morning when the opponent threw out the successive cards stated above. To make matters worse with this opponent, every time I had a direct hit on his New Guy, his health bar would never decrease. This included direct hits from Hookhand Clyde, Marcus, Nathan, and Barrel Dougie.

My friends keep telling me that any post on an Ubisoft forum will fall on deaf ears. In fact, many of my friends have argued that Ubisoft mobile gaming is going down the path of Kabam when they imploaded with Star Wars Uprising. If you don't know the story behind Star Wars Uprising and one of the worse situations to ever hit mobile gaming, then I encourage you to Google it. The events culminated in all servers being shutdown within one year of launch and all players losing the money invested.

I want to believe that there is an investment opportunity in Phone Destroyer. An investment that would not only benefit the developers and Ubisoft in the short-term, but one that would allow the business model of Phone Destroyer to strive in years to come, much like Galaxy of Heroes and Clash of Clans. Unfortunately, I just don't see it at this time. I will certainly continue to play this game. But there will be no investment by me going forward until the energy fiasco is addressed and rectified.

Thanks for allowing me to vent a little........Desa

For giggles, here is a screenshot from two weeks ago where someone played a double cartman at the same time. This also tends to happen a lot.

Did you mind control awesomo? two cartmans look so awesome! I can't think of any other way to do it.

It wasn't mind control. The player had his own awesomo available por summoning (it wouldn't show it if it was already released). The enemy had 2 Cartmans at the same time. Another clear example of the large list of cheaters

I couldn't feel more represented. I hardly managed to reach legendary rank, just to find out that probably at least 1/3 of the top tiers are using speedhacks. The game becomes worse everytime you go higher

I have seen top tier players (#100) using fireball, lightning bolt, hookhand clyde, rats, sheriff cartman and terrance mephesto within 2 seconds (without mystic energy staff, nor hermes kenny, nor any excuse for the absurd extra energy). It is really depressing realizing that you probably won't be that succesful without cheating too
