Do you mean in real life or in the game?

I tested the original IL-2 and found the following (of course the FM may have changed in FB):

190A-4 3km in 255 sec, 6km in 657 sec - best climb speed 300 ias

190A-5 3km in 214 sec, 6km in 515 sec - best c/s 305

190A-8 3km in 274 sec, 6km in 734 sec - best c/s 310

I didn't go above 6km and only did non-WEP climb tests. Radiator was also shut, although I opened it if/when the engine overheated.

Hope that helps somewhat.

In FB, I've found that the best indicated climb rate is about 10m/s. Sometimes you can get it to 15 about without much trouble, but you need a healthy dose of speed.

In FB the low speed handling of all planes is off. This is very noticeable in FWs. Best climb speed in FWs is down around 270IAS MAX, at higher alts you need to go down to 250IAS. You can fly an F8 loaded w/SD500 and maintain a climb at 200IAS at 2000m. (though the best climbrate is at around 270).

A5 and A8 had around 3500fpm initial climb at loaded weight (in real life). A4 is a little bit slower in climb.
A9 reached 4000fpm and D9 with MW50 4300fpm (all at loaded weight).

You can get performance numbers for the Dora from here:

The site for the dora is very good but it seems difficult to have this kind of information for a variant.

Btw, there are documents which indicate that a A-8 without outer wings can climb and turn like a D-9! (the source for these documents is very good).

Cheers,
