Is there any way of turning them off? Who needs search lights if the enemy is lit up like a christmas tree!

It evens the odds, since the AI can see you in the dark http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

It may even the odds, but it looks CRAP!

Yes I made a D-day map - and had the C-47s set up as AI. I saw them a LONG time before I could engage them. In the dark skies I saw bright red and green lights - sort of like UFOs. It was a turkey shoot - it was much easier to track AI at night with NAV lights than in daylight.

Yeah, but at night in a thunderstorm you can loose track of the ground pretty easily. I can get way disoriented. Its crazy.

But yeah, I spat soda on my screen when I saw the AI B-17's nav lights winking in and out of clouds as my Bf-110G2 circled above them, pretending that it had a radar.

I'm curious, do you use icons?

I really wouldn`t go as far as say Arcade! Sure it`s just silly for AI to fly over enemy targets with nav-lights on, but I believe it was done because AI suffers no disadvantage at night. I think it was made to give YOU a chance.

What SHOULD have been done would be to reduce AI`s visibilty detection radius and aiming/accuracy to a very simple level (maybe even below rookie) to reflect the difficulty in fighting at night. At least this way both player and AI may not hit much, but it would feel more real.

I`ve already pointed this out in ORR anyway.
