Just watched "Battle of Britian" Harry Saltzman Production, circa 1969 movie, excellent viewing, highly recommend it. I remember watching this a long time ago and just recently bought it for $5.00 at Walmart. I'm wondering where they got all the planes, I know a lot of scenes were the same 10 planes but they seemed to have a lot of He-111 aircraft, good to watch to get a feel of real flying these babies, expecially the Me-109. Just think that at the begining the Germans had over 2,500 aircraft and the British had 650, but still came out on top, mostly due to the error of the Germans changing tactics in the middle of the battle. The bombsites on the Heinkels seemed wrong in the movie, looked like they had this kinda crosshair wire thingy instead of an ocular site, maybe the early ones had this and by the time they were bombing the Russians they had advanced. Anyway good viewing.

All the German a/c came from the Spanish AF who were still flying the CASA built copies late into the fifties.
There were also a lot of flying models used, and wood and fiberglass dummies built for ground use. My partners cousin was the air-to-air cameraman on the film. Filming mostly from the nose of a highly modified B-25. He did not enjoy the experience! I saw some of the aerial action being filmed while I was playing Rugby at school! Little did I know that I would meet the guy in the B-25 about 20 years later!
