I have a question for oleg.
A half year ago i asked in this Ready room when a Tempest or Typhoon will be ready.
I still have no answer to my question and i want to know when they are ready.
It is taking to long. How hard is it to make a couple of aircraft ready?
I'm very disappionted about this situation.

2.04 was the last update for Il2:FB the Tempest V and Typhoon's only hope along with the Reggie 2000 and the MCs is to be added as a patch to a IL2:FB/PF combined installation after PF is released.

Status of those fine birds are:

Typhoon Mark IB Late External: DONE and submitted to Oleg
Typhoon Mark IB Late Cockpit: Likely to be modified based on the Tempest cockpit
Tempest Mark V External: LOD0 and damage LOD's are done and other LOD's being finished
Tempest Mark V Cockpit: In a similar state of somewhat near completion.

Crossing fingers, hoping, and doing all those sort of things that these aircraft make the super patch after Pacific Fighters release. That patch will include others including flyable Mosquito, alot of Italian aircraft possible, flyable Ju-88 in multiple variants, and numerous other projects. So there isn't a lack of precendent for many of these....but its unknown if they will all make it.

I'm really hoping also that we see the Typhoon and Tempest and also the Spitfire XIV and i think the 21 is done, is it?...i recently bought Royal Air Force at war(Imperial war museum the official collection) dvd, its a must for RAF fans, it shows Hurribombers and Typhoons and Tempests in action fully loaded attacking ground convoys and trains etc with rockets and bombs, and for b&w is very good, its mostly newsreel archive of The Gen and Gafs with many never before released to the public. Also attacking the Tirpitz, sorties against V-1(they can be shot down) and many others...bring on the Tempests http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Currently trying to figure out if the XIV is still under construction or if we have to build a new one.

Just waiting on Gibbage to clarify something before that project goes ahead or not.

The XIV is a real question mark...the Typhoon external is done and that cockpit will rely on if the Tempest is done or not. Seeing as the Tempest continues to make progress with very talented guys still doing it hopefully it will make it.

The XIV we haven't heard from the modeler for quite some time so I'm seeing if we can gather some people to help with that.

All Tempest LODs and damage models are finished and only the shadow models need to be done. The cockpit should be 90% complete. Even if we would finish everything today, we won't see it in game very soon. The Maddox team is just too busy right now with PF development, and many other projects are waiting for the next FB patch.

I just want my FW190 D13, and/or TA152C and fixed high alt performance for TA152H, although I do look forward to Tempest. It seems like an aircraft 190 pilots like myself would enjoy http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

I think you are pretty much guaranteed a Ta-152C.

i cant wait to have the tempest, find me a wingie and go through all the flack, take out the primary target, and get the heck back to base... will make some awwwsome close support missions...

any idea if the patch that it will come in, if released, will come out in a FB only patch? or jus a PF/FB patch or both? i dont plan on buying PF...jus waiting for the next FB patch

We've been told not to expect another patch for FB.

So yes, you'll probably need Pacific Fighters...but theres lots in PF to like so I'd have a very good look at it. If not for the USAAF/USN stuff...there's also the Dutch and the Burma campaign with RAF Spit VIII's and Beaufighters. That alone is worth it. Should make it interesting to almost everyone.

My sources are publically available forum information that you pick up if you read the forums closely. More at Netwings than here.

Harti long ago finished a Ta-152C model and submitted to Oleg. So I'm making a logical guess that it'll be there.

I will keep a candle burning, a glimmer of hope for the Typhoon and Tempest!

Probably upset those OKL guys too much though!

I have little but complaint because the the Spit XI is too good, and 109ers cant handle her.

well, I think the Typhoon and Tempest would make truly fine additions to FB, however I would rather see some flyable allied bombers, like the Mosquito or the Halifax, Stirling and Lancaster, oh and Definately the Short Sunderland. Any of those would be cool! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

cheers, Tonedog.

o come on, spitty is a bit overmodelled but 109ers can handle her. I take on spittys pretty well on my G6/AS, an even better on K4. Only noob 109ers really have trouble because spitty is much more noob friendly than 109. But why even bother fighting them on a 109 when you can rip them to shreds when they least expect it with a 190 http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

o, and like I said b4, I look forward to Tempest and I bet most 190ers do too. Its flying characteristics seem like something 190ers would enjoy. Kinda like many 190ers enjoy P47 http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I doubt anyone will whine about the Typhoon with its ponderous roll rate and average to mediocre turn rate. The Tempest will be another story and I expect some complaining to occur...still, I think the FW190 and P-47 people will like flying the Tempest with its high top speed and good roll rate.

I hope to have some fun tearing up ground targets with the Typhoon, however, which was virtually unmatched against armored vehicles and supply convoys.

The Spitfire is only overmodeled about 7000 meters. So the 109 guys and everyone else needs to learn how to effectively fight the Spitfire. I do it all the time in a FW190 with no trouble. The problem most people have is that they want WWI dogfights and they don't know how to support their team. Both cases are essential to achieving victory over your opponent.

what about a P-38? those were big in the PTO for the army, like the sair and hellcat and wildcat were for the navy... wouldnt be the PTO without it..then again if u have the PF/FB hybird no need, but they had F's in the PTO didnt they????

Im more of a ETO person, guess cause im goin into the Air Force and i dont like carriers very much, even tho i do enjoy carrier landings, jus not my cup of tea..guess thats why im not too big into PF comin out..

Guranteed that the P-38, P-40, P-39, and P-47 ones are in. Thats pretty basic. I would assume a P-39F since those saw large numbers...and shooting down Yamamoto would not be historical without a P-39F.
