After playing on the Gransgard map for awile with some friends I got nostalgic and started to replay the story mode. In mission 1.6 "Wolves Among Sheep" you have to escort a battering ram to the gates of a fortress. This got me thinking (rather wishfully) for another objective mode that would be called something along the lines of "Siege".

Phase 1 The Push
In this mode the Attacking team must guide a battering ram to the gates of a fortress (where the defenders are). The attackers are given 20 "reinforcements" (spare lives) and must protect their cart pushing Soldiers.
For the Defending team, like in the mission they can come ove a no-return ridge to exhaust the Attacker Reinforcements (heroes lives) or they can stay in their Fortress behind/on the walls with Ballistas that MUST BE MANUALLY RELOADED PER SHOT but otherwise serve the same as those on the Sentinel map.
Once the ram is in place the minions will reel the ram back and a hero must manually let it fly. After 3 hits the gates come down.
Losing Conditions:
Attackers: Run out of lives and all die OR run out of time and troops abandon the cause.
Defender: None

Phase 2 Storming the Castle
As a reward for making the push the attackers are making the push te attackers are given 5 extra "reinforcements" as morale bolsters. At this point the Defenders are limited to 4 spare lives as resolve breaks. The Attackers now must capture the following points in order:
Gatehouse/Entrance, the point of the breach.
The Fortress Courtyard/Main Area
and The Citadel, the heart of the fort
I'll let the Devs decide how long they have to capture a zone before the defense rallies but each zone capture should grant additional time.
The now limited defenders must try and hold/capture the areas in the reverse order and whenever they reclaim a zone they are given extra lives.
Losing Conditions:
Attackers: Run out of lives OR run out of time
Defenders: Run out of lives OR all zones are captured.

Thoughts? Input? Sorry for any spelling/grammar mistakes, typing on PS4

i would love some kind of castle siege type mode or assault mode, but with only 4v4 I don't think it would work all that well.

but if something could be worked out it would be great. i know some people like duels, but for me i find for honor in a 1on1 sense to just be a very poor fighting game, and i have plenty of fighting to play, so for me, i prefer objective-based modes for this game.

tribute is a nice edition, but with the setting of this game, i would be nice to see it used to create interesting modes, rather than borrowing your typical shooter modes.

I agree with both sentiments here, I like the twist they put on this capture the flag scenario, though. I have been utterly addicted to tribute for days now.

Add to the OP I think the two part segment might seem a little too long and convoluted, maybe break that up into two separate modes.
At the end of siege, there is a general you have to kill to win after the teams start breaking, maybe even go a step further and give the defending side the choice like in the campaign, challenge with a champion or all fight to the death. (In which case if your respective general dies you lose).
As to the second part maybe an invasion mode, you have three main objectives to destroy to raze the map and force the enemy team out of that territory with maybe one or two side objective that will give you a bonus and hinder your enemy during the final round.

The community is crying for this one since even before launch ^^

I personally would like to see also variations of siege equipment and units everybody can buy with steel and then use for this mode. Like buying a unit- or equipment card (just pay for one time and own it like a piece of equipment) and being able to choose like 4 of them before entering battle!
