View Full Version : Uru and Lord of the Rings *spoilers of both*

I noticed a couple scenes in Uru that resembled scenes in The Lord of the Rings Saga.

In Eder Kemo, the camera angles used on your character when you cross the bridge over the lava seemed to be the same angles used in the crossing of the bridge of Kazadum in FOTR.

In the end game, when falling through the hole in the Bahro cavern towards the red lake, I was reminded of the scene in TTT when Gandalf and the Balrog fell towards the lake.

This one is a bit of a stretch, but the last pit you cross in Kadish Tolesa (this game I've noticed is not friendly to those who are afraid of heights.. good lord) reminded me of the Mines of Moria when Gandalf illuminated the mithril with his staff (this one was purplish instead of white, but like I said.. a stretch).

Thoughts?

Don't forget Brad Dourif who played Grima Wormtongue 'in Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers' also played Saavedro in Exile http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

And that he was astounding in both. Watch for him on a couple episodes of Star Trek: Voyager, and the fourth Aliens movie as well. An amazing character actor, with a wide range of memorable roles.

Yes he was astounding in both roles as Wormtongue and Saavedro. Don't remember him from the fourth Aliens movie. Will have to watch that again and see if I can spot him. Thanks for the info Kawartha

I knew Kadish reminded me of something in LOTR! It may have been the mines, or the magical forest where that elf lady lived. And the elf city reminded me of somewhere in Exile.

Speaking of Brad Dourif, let's not forget his role in One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest.. now _there_ was a performance (and his debut if I remember rightly)!

Brad Dourif also appeared in an episode of Babylon 5...I think the 2nd or 3rd season...plays a murder who has been brain wiped and later discovers his identity. Very good performance.

Yeah, he was a scientist/researcher bad guy in Aliens Ressurection, and I remember the weird X-files episode he was in too. He sure is a creepy, but very GOOD actor. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
