Anybody have one? I'm thinking of getting a mid-range (mid-price) one. Are they any good? My friend has one and says he likes it. The volume controller seems a little weird though...doesn't it shift out of place all the time?

i have an ipod. i love it, i have it half full and i have filled up 2.7 out of 10gb and have 643 songs on it (at 192kbs, mp3-quality is 128). i paid 400 for mine, its a 2nd generation. now they have the 3rd generation in 10gb-$300, 20gb-$400, and 40gb-thats 10000 songs-$500. its well worth the money. i only wish i had a mac so i could get i-tunes. my only complaint is that it gets scratched fairly easy. but there are tons of good cases you can get for it.

I have the Creative Nomad Zen. I like it better than the iPod. The 20GB version costs $300 and the 60GB version costs $400. I got the 20GB. It can hold 5,000 songs and any type of file. You can check it out here:

it's not really that much smaller.. those iPods are REALLLLY small, especially for the amount of storage you get

I have a 10GB one, no problems so far. It cost me $300 at the time I bought with PC compatibility. Good investment IMO.

the new ipods are so small that you can never complain about it being to big. and nomad zen is nice and has better sound quilty (check the specs if you dont believe me!!!) but it is also alot bigger than the ipod. i almost got but but it was so big i didnt really have anywhere to keep it except my hand and that wasnt goign to work. so i'd recommend the ipod

Thx for posting that link vpc. I've been lookin around for an mp3 player and I think the Nomad may be the one. Just have to find a store in my area that has it so I can put my hands on it for a few minutes. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

Ya, sometimes it's hard to find. I bought mine last summer when it first came out. I went to three Best Buys and they were all sold out. Believe it or not I finally found mine at Sears. It was the last one.
